The following works of art by Robert Aldern were chosen to be produced as Fine Art Gicle Prints.The majority are from the personal collection of the artist. Originals from his private collection are

rarely offered for sale. Over the years, many who have collected his work have requested reproductionsof these pieces. Included in this price listing are limited printings of liturgical studies, landscapes andstill lifes. As new artwork is made available, the listing is updated.

What is a Gicle Print?

Gicle (pronounced zheeclay) is a French word meaning fine spray. Gicle prints are producedby spraying the image in a continuous tone on to fine art paper, eliminating the halftoning used in

mass production methods and increasing the detail and quality to a level that far surpasses previoustechnology. The inks used are specially formulated so that fine print heads can spray jets of ink inminute droplets. Each proof is calibrated to the color of the original artwork and is reviewed and

approved by the artist. The paper is acid-free, 100 percent cotton rag, Radiant White Somerset Velvet.The velvet surface allows for rich detail and accuracy. The inkset is Ultrachrome 7-color archival

pigment inks, designed to achieve maximum color range and archival stability. The prints are producedat Kretzmann Studios, Minneapolis, Minnesota.

What does Limited Fine Art mean?

The size offered of each print, in the form it is printed, is limited to a total quantity of 200 to 500.

The prints are overseen by the artist and printed by a master printer in quantities of 1 to 5 at eachprinting. This enables the color to be matched to the original as the artist intended.

While Parkinsons Disease has presented challenges for Aldern, he continues to create new paintings

and a few select commissions. His studio is located on the campus of Augustana College, Sioux Falls,SD, where he serves as Artist-in-Residence.
