Original Rocklin Academy Charter◦ Opened in 2001 at Granite Oaks Middle School 100
students strong grades 3-6◦ Moved to Valley View Elementary in 2003 grades K-8◦ Moved again in 2005 to Ruhkala Elementary
Meyers◦ Opened in 2007◦ Rocklin Academy was growing and Long Term Housing
Agreement with RUSD was negotiated
Enrollment capped at 558 K-6

WSCA◦ Opened in 2009◦ RA was always intended to include grades 7 and 8◦ Agreement with RUSD could not be reached to
allow grades 7-8◦ New charter was written and submitted for
approval◦ Charter went through appeal process all the way
to State Board of Education
