About UsThe Rock Stop is a Social Enterprise and visitor centre containing an exhibition, café and shop. It was set up by the North West Highlands Geopark Ltd in 2015 and is located in the heart of the Geopark at Unapool, just south of the Kylesku Bridge. The North West Highlands Geopark Ltd is a charity which exists to manage UNESCO Global Geopark Status for the North West Highlands. Our region became the first European Geopark in Scotland in 2004 and was promoted to a UNESCO Global Geopark in 2015 because of its unique, world-class geological landscape. UNESCO Global Geoparks don’t just have remarkable geology though – they are places where outstanding geological heritage is used to support sustainable development, through conservation, education, interpretation and responsible tourism. At the Rock Stop, we give visitors a warm Highland welcome and encourage them to learn more about the region through our modern interactive exhibition and publications.

Opportunities 2021We intend to open for the season during week commencing 17 th May. The precise profile of operations is currently being finalised and may change during the season as COVID-19 restrictions change, however, it is the intention that the café will be operational throughout.We are looking to recruit retail and catering team members to welcome customers, and serve them light lunches, snacks and tea & coffee and look after shop sales. We pride ourselves in being able to tell visitors about our area and in particular the stunning landscape we all enjoy. New recruits will get training in the basics from the Geopark staff and will have the opportunity to share their own ideas and interests. We are currently looking for new members of staff to join our small but friendly team for various shifts to include week days, weekend & Bank Holiday shifts.To apply please read the role descriptions below and fill out an application form.
