FUEL JUG RULES The LC & LC2 jugs pictured below are the only approved fuel containers for fuel stops. The only modifications allowed are outlined further down this page. Filler hose size must remain as produced. Larger hose diameter is not allowed. Jug cap must be tight at all times during refueling. ALL CANS WILL BE TECHED IN THE FUEL LANE EACH DAY. APPROVED FUEL CAN MODIFICATIONS After additional cold weather testing of the fuel cans, we have found some issues on a handful of cans. The issues found have been: The hose on some cans becomes very stiff when cold. When held at a certain angle, fuel can spill out of the vent hole. The cap fitting on some cans has broken under stress. You may perform the following modifications to your cans. A replacement hose may be used. The hose MUST retain the stock 3/4” ID and may be anywhere from 12” to 24” in length to accommodate different filling

FUEL STOP FUEL CAN RULES The rules for fuel jugs are the same for ALL CLASSES that have a fuel stop at regular season races. FUEL JUG RULES

•   The LC & LC2 jugs pictured below are the only approved fuel containers for fuel stops.

•   The only modifications allowed are outlined further down this page. •   Filler hose size must remain as produced. Larger hose diameter is not allowed. •   Jug cap must be tight at all times during refueling. •   ALL CANS WILL BE TECHED IN THE FUEL LANE EACH DAY.

APPROVED FUEL CAN MODIFICATIONS After additional cold weather testing of the fuel cans, we have found some issues on a handful of cans. The issues found have been:

•   The hose on some cans becomes very stiff when cold. •   When held at a certain angle, fuel can spill out of the vent hole. •   The cap fitting on some cans has broken under stress.

You may perform the following modifications to your cans.

•   A replacement hose may be used. The hose MUST retain the stock 3⁄4” ID and may be anywhere from 12” to 24” in length to accommodate different filling

styles. We have tested an AG200 rubber hose which have remained flexible in cold weather during testing and can be obtained for less than $2.00 per foot.

•   A 3/16” ID fuel line may be added to the vent tube to reduce the risk of fuel

spilling when the vent is upside down. To do this, the vent hole can be opened slightly using a 19/64” drill bit. Place the fuel line into the vent opening and then secure the line to the can. (see Photos below) Silicone may be added to the line/can joint for extra sealing.

•   If breakage of the cap to hose fitting is a concern, a replacement fitting of either

plastic or metal may be used. However, the fitting MUST retain the exact same 3⁄4” OD as the stock fitting.

You may legally use one, two or all three of these modifications on your fuel can or you can leave it in the stock form. Whether you make the modifications or not we encourage you to test it prior to the first race to help make the fuel stops as safe as possible.
