“Rock is frequently referred to as Kensington on sea,” laughs Richard. Indeed the area is an extremely popular holiday area amongst royalty, Hollywood actors and members of parliament and it has been admired in many poems.

“My family built The Orchard House in the 70s; they were in love with the area and wanted to build a home that would meet their needs,” he says. “In the 70s, Rock didn’t have many large family homes and so this was one of the first,” he explains.

The property is central to all you could need in Rock. “The shopping area is on your doorstep and the famous beaches are a short walk away,” explains Richard. “There are fabulous restaurants, shops, watersports, the world renowned golf course St Enodoc, Sharp’s Brewery and many more amenities at your fingertips to ensure a wonderful way of life and a fabulous holiday,” he says. “If you need to venture further afield, Wadebridge is nearby and Padstow is a short water taxi where you can visit Rick Stein’s famous restaurants,” explains Richard.

“Most of the property was completely refurbished in 2012, however there are a few rooms where the new buyer could put their own touch,” explains Richard. “The attic has potential to introduce two or three new bedrooms, depending on what the buyer requires from the property.”

“My mother in-law came from a family of well-known and wonderful horticulturists and she therefore created a wonderful, secluded garden and continues to be maintained by a gardener,” says Richard. “The garden has been a popular entertaining space, as everyone loves to be out in the fresh sea air in Rock.”

“The Orchard House is a gracious and relaxing home that should be lived in and enjoyed by a family,” says Richard, “we had many happy times here over the years and cannot think of a better way of life,” he concludes.*

Situated in a quiet residential area in the sought after village of Rock, The Orchard House was built in the orchard of the property where Shores House now stands and still has some apple trees in the rear garden.
