#$%&'( )'(*+ ,eb 16 : Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic Affairs at the Ministry of Interior Major-GeneralAbdullah Al-Muhanna has said the General Traffic Department has collected a total of #"0+04 +005 intraffic fines between a! 12+ 2015 and an 10+ 2016 , accordin to a press releaseissued by the Ministry! "e also disclosed the death rate as a result of traffic accidents in #$%& fellb! se en percent compared to #$%' which is the lowest recorded for the past fi e !ears !

"owe(er, statistics issued by the Ministry shows there ha(e been 4+265 deaths as a result oftraffic accidents o(er the past 10 !ears ! Al Muhanna noted in 2015 a total of 110+ 92 trafficaccidents were recorded which resulted in the death of 429 people ! "e said the traffic sectorwor)s to ensure the safety of road users throu h deployment of field patrols around the cloc) andapplyin the law on e(eryone without e*ception! "e also said from this point of (iew, the suddentraffic campai ns will continue to be or ani+ed in all o(ernorates to punish (iolators of the trafficlaws!

Al-Muhanna also stressed on the importance of imposin the law to deter offenders and protectthe li(es of road users motorists and pedestrians! "e added, .(eryone must be aware thatdri(in is an art and re/uires ood manners to achie(e the desired oals to reduce trafficaccidents, which ha(e cast a loomy shadow on an indi(idual and society, cost the nation to treatthe injured in hospitals which in the end has an impact on the economy of the state and that of thefamily!
