Indiana Right to Life President/CEO to Be 2016 Right to Life Banquet Speaker

continued on PAGE 6

I know many pro-life people are very nervous about the fall election and how it will shape up for the pro-life movement.

Indiana has been turned upside down as pro-life governor Mike Pence has been selected as Donald Trump’s running mate. This is expected to help Trump as it will help to stabilize the Repub-lican ticket for president and help to calm pro-life voters who are nervous about Trump’s vocal statements on just about ev-ery issue. With Pence on the ticket, it may help to encourage voters to vote for the Republican presidential ticket when they otherwise may stay home. There have been some voters across the country who were nervous with Donald Trump at the top of the ticket, but when you look at Hilary Clinton at the top of the Democratic ticket there is no other choice in this election. When you consider what she could do with appointments to the government agencies and also appointments to federal courts and the U.S. Supreme Court it would be a disaster for the un-born and the pro-life movement across the country. Now with the selection of pro-life Mike Pence on the ticket it could be that pro-life groups will endorse the Republican ticket for president.

Another factor in Trump’s favor that has helped to calm fears in the pro-life community is Trump’s choice of eleven judg-es to the courts that he has put forth if

Pence is very pro-life and has led the State of Indiana as its governor since 2013. He also served in the U.S. House of Representatives and had a 100% pro-life voting record.

On the democratic side, John Gregg has picked his running mate and she is Cristiana Hale, a pro-abortion state rep-

resentative from the Indianapolis area house district 87. It is no surprise that Greg picked a pro-abortion running mate as the Democratic Party is now known as the party for abortion. She has received campaign contributions from Planned Par-enthood, Indiana’s largest abortion industry. John Gregg, while serving as speaker of the Indiana House, did not help with pro-life bills and in fact worked to have the bills killed. While saying he was pro-life, he assigned pro-life bills to committees where he knew the chairmen of those committees were pro-abortion and those bills would not see the light of day. While meeting with pro-life leaders, he said he was pro-life but was not going to dictate to his committee chairman. Does that sound pro-life, knowing the bills would be killed? While Evan Bayh served as governor of Indiana, it was evident that a pact was made with Speaker Gregg not to bring up pro-life bills so Democrats would

not have a recorded vote that they might have to answer for in future elections. Now pro-abortion Evan Bayh has decided to come back and run for U.S. Senate in Indiana when polls were showing that Democrat Baron Hill was having trouble against Republican Todd Young.

With the exit of Governor Mike Pence from the governor’s race on the Republican ticket, the republicans have picked Eric Holcomb, who was selected as lieutenant governor under Pence and also worked for Congressman John Hostettler, who was very pro-life. Holcomb is expected to carry the pro-life ban-ner in this campaign against pro-abortion candidates John Gregg and Christiana Hale. Eric Holcomb has just selected Suzanne Crouch, who has been endorsed by Indiana Right to Life P.A.C. in her bid for several state offices that she has held. She is currently serving as State Auditor. Holcomb and Crouch will have an uphill battle against the pro-abortion team of Gregg and Hale, but anything can happen before this election is over.

In Indiana, the race for U.S. Senate has also taken a turn that has not happened before in Indiana politics. Pro-abor-

tion candidate Baron Hill was unopposed in the Democratic primary and was having trouble getting his campaign going and was trailing to pro-life Todd Young in the polls, so in steps Evan Bayh to save the day. Baron Hill withdraws from the race and Evan Bayh will now run in his place. Many in the pro-life movement know full well the pro-abortion vot-ing record of Evan Bayh while serving as governor of Indi-

ana and serving as U.S. senator. He was the deciding vote in the U.S. Senate that forced Obamacare – with it’s abortion funding – on the general public. On the other hand, Todd Young, who is presently serving as congressman from the ninth district in the U.S. House, has a 100% pro-life vot-ing record. There is no doubt that Bayh will bring out the Democrat faithful to vote for the candidate, but we will see if Indiana is ready to return the pro-abortion Bayh to the U.S. Senate.

The Columbus Dispatch published an article by colum-nist Christine M. Flowers this week explaining why she is

“holding her nose” and voting for Donald Trump. Flowers has written several columns explaining her disdain for the Republi-can presidential candidate. Yet despite this blatant disregard, the columnist says she will vote for him in November.

Flowers explains that she cannot put Democratic candi-date Hillary Clinton in the position of winning the presiden-cy simply because of her distain for Trump: “The reason that I am turning myself into a hypocrite of the highest order at an epidermal level, is to keep myself from becoming a hypo-crite at the deepest level of consciousness. I cannot put Hil-lary Clinton in a position to shape the Supreme Court.”

Flowers wants a Supreme Court that will defend unborn children and uphold basic safety regulations in abortion mills. If Clinton becomes president, she has promised to appoint pro-abortion justices as she continues her fight for extreme

abortion laws. This was evident in Clinton’s statement regarding the recent Supreme Court ruling that overturned Texas abor-tion clinic regulations: “We need a president who will defend women’s health and rights and appoint Supreme Court justices who recognize Roe v. Wade as settled law. We must continue to protect access to safe and legal abortion – not just on paper, but in reality.” This is why many pro-life leaders are supporting Trump. On June 21, Trump met with a group of pro-life lead-ers and told them he would choose justices who are pro-life. Although his past statements regarding abortion have been var-ied, he is undoubtedly the candidate who will defend the most unborn lives.

As Flowers says, “…Ruth Bader Ginsburg was clinging to her gavel until a liberal could replace her, and the other four feminists (including Breyer and Kennedy) were in good health. Currently, the only thing standing between Clinton and the court is Trump.”

Hilary Clinton Names Pro-Abortion Kaine as VP Pick, Says He’s “Catholic” Who “Supports Abortion” from LifeNews

Abortion activist Hillary Clinton today tapped pro-abortion Virginia Senator Tim Kaine as her vice-presidential run-

ning mate. The Virginia politician is on record as trying to have it both ways, saying he is both a “traditional Catholic” and a strong supporter of abortion. Kaine has a pro-abortion record. As LifeNews previously reported, Kaine said he is a “strong sup-porter of Roe v. Wade” despite being a “traditional Catholic.”

“Like Hillary Clinton, Senator Tim Kaine supports the current policy of abortion on demand,” said Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life. “Like Hillary Clinton, Sen. Kaine is so extreme on abortion he opposes even the Pain-Ca-pable Unborn Child Protection Act, legislation to protect un-born children from abortion after 20 weeks, when they are ca-pable of feeling excruciating pain during dismemberment or other late abortion methods.” As a U.S. senator, Kaine has vot-ed against the pro-life position every chance he got. Sen. Kaine voted to allow government funding of abortion providers, and he voted against legislation to require an abortionist to notify at least one parent before performing an abortion on a minor girl from another state.

Kaine identifies as Roman Catholic and claimed that his beliefs align with the pro-life Church.  But he was pro-abor-

tion enough for Democrats for Life to yank its endorsement of him. His spokesman and website are now identifying him as a pro-choice Democrat. Kaine avoided directly giving his stance on abortion, in order to appear more conservative. However, his refusal to defend life in his political career tells the voters that Kaine supports abortion.

On Sunday, Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Kaine was given a standing ovation by his Catholic parish, California Catholic Daily reported. While his fellow parish-ioners are celebrating him as Hillary Clinton’s pro-abortion running mate, many Catholics are speaking out against him because of his position on abortion. The Rev. Thomas Petri, a Catholic priest in Washington, D.C., tweeted the Senator to stay out of his communion line: “Senator @timkaine: Do us both a favor. Don’t show up in my communion line. I take Canon 915 seriously. It’d be embarrassing for you & for me.” Providence Bishop Thomas J. Tobin also spoke out on how Kaine’s political position on abortion is in direct contradic-tion to the teachings of the Catholic Church. “Senator Kaine has said, ‘My faith is central to everything I do,’ but apparently, and unfortunately, his faith isn’t central to his public, political life,” Tobin said.

Surely it is understandable if a pro-lifer might come to the conclusion that, in effect, if you’ve seen one pro-abortion

President, you’ve seen them all. They could be forgiven if they asked themselves, could Hillary Clinton possibly be any different –any worse–than her husband, former President Bill Clinton, or the current pro-abortion occupant, Barack Obama? After all both Bill Clinton and Barack Obama are pro-abortion to the core.

But unless you understand the progression, the degener-ation–of leading Democrats’ position on abortion and how she represents the nexus for the intersection of the Interna-tional Abortion Industry, you can’t fully appreciate how dev-astating a President Hillary Clinton would be. Bill Clinton didn’t accidently come by the moniker, “Slick Willie.” A deft politician, he hid the practical abortion-on-demand implica-tions in the mantra of abortion as “safe, legal, and rare.”

Obama slid down the slope even before he became President. As an Illinois state Senator he op-posed the Born-Alive Infants Pro-tection Act, legislation to provide legal protection for babies who are born alive during abortions. We remember his comment at a town hall meeting in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. If either of his daughters were someday to “make a mistake,” he said, “I don’t want them punished with a baby.”

And there was his glib “it’s beyond my pay grade” answer to Rick Warren’s question, “at what point does a baby get hu-man rights?” His record as President has been an unmitigat-ed disaster, much too long to detail. Suffice it to say that he threatened to veto a bill to prevent sex selection abortion, is attempting to strangle laws that protect freedom of con-science, engineered ObamaCare which resulted in federal funding of over 1,000 health plans that pay for elective abor-tion, and threatened to veto a bill that would protect pain-ca-pable unborn babies from abortion.

Can Hillary Clinton be worse? Oh, yes. Let me count just some of the ways. Clinton likes to talk about herself as a “grandmother.” But because of the policies she has sup-ported–and would vigorously advance as President Hillary Clinton–there are far fewer grandmothers, and mothers, Proud “feminist” that she is, Clinton is not shy about her unabashed, four-square support for abortion on demand, at home and abroad.

Before itemizing just a portion of her many extremist positions, remember that Clinton is a founding mother of the Sisterhood of Death. Planned Parenthood loves her, EM-ILY’s List adores her, NARAL thinks she is a secular saint. Collectively they will spend multiple tens of millions of dol-lars to elect “one of theirs” to the White House.

In the administration of a President Hillary Clinton, PPFA et al. won’t just have access. You can bet a slew of its key leaders will not only advise on policy but also be in ap-pointed positions where they can make policy.

Half of her appointments (at least) will be women. Can you imagine any woman making the cut if she didn’t pass the pro-abortion litmus test? As a U.S. Senator, Clinton had a 100% voting record against the babies. While some others

of her kind balked at partial-birth abortions, not Clinton. Clinton voted repeatedly to keep par-tial-birth abortion legal.

It gave her no pause that an abortionist could deliver a baby’s entire body, except for the head, jams scissors into the baby’s skull and opens the scissors to enlarge the hole, and suck the baby’s brains out. What about more re-cently?

In April, Chuck Todd, on Meet the Press, asked Clinton: “When, or if, does an unborn child have constitutional rights?” She answered, “Well, under our laws currently, that is not something that exists. The un-born person doesn’t have constitutional rights.” Somehow or the other, Paula Faris (of The View) was able to ask a follow up question two days later. “And Secretary, I want to ask you about some comments that you made over the weekend on Meet the Press regarding abortion. You said, quote, ‘the un-born person doesn’t have constitutional rights.’ My question is at what point does someone have constitutional rights, and are you saying that a child, on its due date, just hours before delivery still has no constitutional rights? Clinton responded, “Under our law, that is the case, Paula. I support Roe v Wade.”

A major goal of a President Hillary Clinton would be to secure an international “right” to abortion. She is wired into the Abortion Establishment, both domestically and in-ternationally. She is resolute that there can never, ever be a limitation on abortion, including your right not to pay for them and (if you are medical personnel) not to participate in abortion. It is no exaggeration to say a President Hillary Clinton would be catastrophic.

Something to think about: If you don’t vote for Donald Trump or Hilary Clinton for

president, you could be helping Hilary Clinton to win the

presidency. Many experts are saying this could happen.

Think about it!

Can Hilary Clinton Be Worse on Abortion Than Obama? Yes, and Here’s Why!

On the issue of abortion, President Barack Obama and Dem-ocratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton are quite

similar. New reports indicate that, if elected, Clinton could keep some of Obama’s top pro-abortion administration officials on staff. One is U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch, The New York Times reports.

Lynch is pro-abortion and has defended gruesome par-tial-birth abortions in the past. Under her leadership, the Justice Department also has been accused of unfairly targeting pro-lif-ers by pursuing “frivolous prosecutions” against the pro-life movement. Here is more from The Daily Caller:

Picking Lynch as a holdover from the Obama administra-tion would help Clinton’s stated goal of making her cabinet gen-der-equal. But the choice would likely prove controversial given that Lynch is the ultimate arbiter in the Justice Department’s in-vestigation into the potential mishandling of classified informa-tion on Clinton’s private email server. Concerns over conflicts of interest reached new heights last week after Lynch, the first black female AG, met in secret with Bill Clinton at Phoenix’s international airport.

Hillary Clinton Considering Keeping Abortion Activist Loretta Lynch as Attorney General

Democratic Party Platform is Even More Pro-Abortion Than Ever Be-fore, Here’s How By Dave Andrusko   National RTL

The Democratic National Committee released the latest draft of its 2016 platform recently, a week after Senator

Bernie Sanders (Vt.) promised to fight “on the floor of the convention” if more progressive planks did not make it in. Da-vid Weigel, in the Washington Post, tells his readers reporters previously only had a summary of the platform and a leak on which to base stories about the party’s platform. “After multi-ple requests from the media, and at least one leak, the party is effectively giving the public one week to peruse the language before the full platform committee meets in Orlando.”

So what is the party’s position on abortion? Only a tiny portion of the section is included. Instead Weigel talks about how, for “the first time, the 2016 Democratic platform says that the party will attempt to repeal the Hyde Amendment.” We will continue to oppose — and seek to overturn — federal and state laws and policies that impede a woman’s access to abortion, including by repealing the Hyde Amendment … we support the repeal of harmful restrictions that obstruct wom-en’s access to health care information and services, including the “global gag rule” and the Helms Amendment that bars U.S. assistance to provide safe, legal abortion throughout the developing world. Translated out of AbortionSpeak and into English, what is the party going after?

The Hyde Amendment is a provision attached to the an-nual appropriations bill that covers many federal health pro-grams (including Medicaid). More federal funding means

more – lots more – dead babies. The most conservative esti-mates are that at least a million people (not to count their de-scendants) are alive today because of the Hyde Amendment. Testifying before a congressional committee in 2011, NRLC Federal Legislative Director Douglas Johnson said NRLC “believes that the Hyde Amendment has proven itself to be the greatest domestic abortion-reduction law ever enacted by Congress.” The public overwhelmingly supports not allowing federal funding of abortion. Getting rid of the Hyde Amend-ment is a major priority for Hillary Clinton, the pro-abortion presumptive Democratic nominee for president. The Helms Amendment is a law that prohibits the use of certain types of foreign aid funds for abortion “as a method of family plan-ning.” Weigel says there are other portions of the platform that Clinton would not agree with. She agrees 100% with the plat-form on abortion.

Just a word about the remainder of the section on “Re-productive Health, Rights, and Justice.” Here are the first three sentences, which are indicative: “Democrats are committed to protecting and advancing reproductive health, rights, and jus-tice. We believe unequivocally that every woman should have access to quality reproductive health care services, including safe and legal abortion– regardless of where she lives, how much money she makes, or how she is insured. We believe that reproductive health is core to women’s, men’s, and young people’s health and wellbeing.”

During an interview on The View recently, Clinton said an unborn child just hours before delivery should have no Consti-tutional rights. Her comments came just days after Clinton said unborn children simply do not have any Constitutional rights, which would include the right to life. At a presidential forum at Drake University, Clinton called ending the life of another human being a “fundamental human right.” In May, she also slammed a new Indiana law that protects unborn babies with Down syndrome from discriminatory abortions.

Yes, that is true! Indiana University has entered the abortion debate by suing so that they can continue to receive aborted

babies to experiment on. We have known for a long time that universities across the country have become a bastion of liberal ideas contrary to the pro-family lifestyles.

According to Mike Fichter, President of Indiana Right to Life, “We are gravely disappointed at Indiana University’s at-tempt to block the Dignity of the Unborn Law in order to con-tinue using aborted babies in its experiments. There are multiple alternative tissue sources for such research that do not require the harvesting of organs and tissue from babies that have been electively dismembered. IU’s admittance to using aborted ba-bies for their research also raises concerns about whether preg-

nant women gave permission for this research.”Dr. David Prentice, Vice President of Research Director for

the Charlotte Lozier Institute, stated: “There is no real proof of-fered that aborted fetal tissue is unique or essential or a sole source to the research. Moreover, fetal tissue obtained from miscarriage is still allowed for research under the new Indiana law.” In the complaint it was brought out that IU acquires and receives aborted babies from the University of Washington.

This has brought up the question: Do you want your chil-dren going to IU in the wake of this announcement? And if you support IU with money or donations for any reason, should you continue to do so? This is something that people who are pro-life need to consider.

We Remember the Passing of Rosemary Wichman

We call your attention to the passing of Rose-mary Wichman who passed away suddenly

on June 13 of 2016. Rosemary was married to Bob Wichman who passed away on July 15 of 2015. Bob and Rosemary have been strong supporters of Right to Life both financial and volunteering their time to help where they could. Bob and his wife Rosemary also worked for the St. Vincent DePaul Society and were charter members. They will always be remem-bered for their kind hearts and for their compassion for their fellow human beings. A Memorial Page to honor them will appear in our Right to Life Banquet Book.

“Right To Life will always remember Bob and Rosemary. God bless them.”

Indiana University Sues to Block Abortion Law so They Can Continue to Receive Aborted Babies!

he were to be elected president. Many pro-life leaders and conservative leaders have all expressed their approval of the individuals that Donald Trump has said he would appoint to the high court if he were to be elected. They all have good conservative and pro-life records. Trump has been behind Clinton in the polls, but has received a boost in the polls after the Republican convention; and with Clinton’s email scandals, it may have hurt Clinton more in the long run.

There were many individuals saying all along that Clin-ton would get off with a slap on the wrist because President Obama’s key people were investigating the scandals and they would see to it that nothing was done to her. It is yet to be seen how the voters will react to it, but polls just being released are showing it is hurting her. She has picked Tom Kaine as a running mate; but in spite of the fact he says he does not believe in abortion, he is perfectly willing to let abortion be the law of the land. In fact it is hard to find any democrat who is willing to stand up and say they are pro-life and try to do something about it. The pro-abortion mentality seems to be the norm in the Democratic Party.

Pro-Life Bill HB 1337 Passed by Indiana Legislature Struck Down by Obama-Appointed Judge

By Louis Kavanaugh Jr.

A pro-life bill that was passed and signed by Indiana Gov-ernor Mike Pence has now been stuck down by a federal

judge appointed by President Obama. Governor Pence signed this legislation into law in spite of the negative press from the pro-abortion media and the abortion industry. An Indiana bill to protect unborn babies from being aborted simply because of a disability, race or sex was sent to Governor Mike Pence’s desk in early March. The Indiana House gave final approval to House Bill 1337 on a 60-40 vote, sending it to the pro-life governor’s desk. The state senate passed the bill in February.

Indiana House Bill 1337 would ban abortion doctors from knowingly aborting an unborn baby solely because of a genetic

disability such as Down syndrome, the unborn baby’s race or sex. The bill also has several other abortion-related measures, including a requirement that aborted or miscarried babies’ bod-ies be cremated or buried and another requirement that abor-tionists who have hospital admitting privileges renew them an-nually.

The burial/cremation requirement backs up a law passed in 2015 by Governor Pence requiring that aborted babies’ bodies be disposed of in a humane way. In 2013, North Dakota became the first state to pass a similar bill to protect unborn babies from abortions because of disabilities. A handful of states also ban abortions based solely on the baby’s sex.

Monument at St. John’s Church, Loogootee

In Loving Memory of the Unborn Victims of Abortion

This tombstone sits on the lawn of St. John’s Catholic Church in Loogootee and has been in place for several years. On Easter Sunday, Martin County Right to Life Members place an Eas-ter Basket there in remembrance of those children that will not celebration Easter because they were aborted. We comment St. John’s Church for placing the Stone there and for MCRTL for their observance of victims of abortion.

Monument at St. Mary’s Church, Shoals

Pray that the World Will Protect Life from Conception to Natural Death

This is another Monument which is right beside the en-trance to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Shoals in Martin Coun-ty. We comment the Catholic Community of Martin County for their remembrance of the Unborn Children and their Respect of Life. It is a public display of their faith. We need more like it.
