HOLY TRINITY SCHOOL MR. JEFFREY M. M C CUSKER, PRINCIPAL JANUARY 2021, ISSUE 4 M ONTHLY M EMO Each year, it is a tradition to celebrate National Catholic Schools Week at the end of January. After the Christmas decorations are packed away and we ring in a new year, we look forward to recognizing and honoring the value of a Catholic Education. Now more than ever, we celebrate the gift of a Catholic Education and, more specifically, the gift of Holy Trinity School. For nearly seventy years, Holy Trinity School has provided a quality Catholic Education to the students and families. This year’s Catholic Schools Week theme is Faith. Excellence. Service. Our students celebrate and live their faith each day - by saying morning and afternoon prayers, participating in weekly Mass, serving as altar servers, lectors, and cantors, joining with other grades as Prayer Partners for the year, and participating in special religious traditions such as our Advent Angel Pageant, Passion Play, and May Procession - in addition to Religion classes and preparing for their sacraments. We strive for excellence in our academic program by evaluating our resources, staying current with DLFF Scholarship Winners! Congratulations to our 8th Grade students who were recently awarded scholarships by the Danaher Lynch Family Foundation to Conwell-Egan Catholic High School. Tate Martin, Vanessa Poland, and Jasmine Toner were each offered $2,000 per year for four years! Engagement News! For the past few years, our students have adopted a child (Britney from Ecuador) and have participated in many fundraisers to help send resources to her and her family. A special thank you to our Holy Trinity Parishioners for your contributions, support, and prayers. I wish everyone a very Happy Catholic Schools Week!

MESSAGES OF THANKS!

Thank you to the Danaher Lynch Family Foundation (DLFF), who provided Holy Trinity with a $5,000 grant for technology equipment. With these funds, we were able to purchase a set of Chromebooks for our 4th Grade class to utilize for their learning.

Thank you to the Connelly Foundation for providing Holy Trinity with a $10,000 grant to be used for special COVID-related concepts, projects, and equipment. During this Catholic Schools Week, our Junior High Unit researched countries and the effects of COVID-19 in these areas, as well as completed a photo essay assignment dealing with the pandemic. This will be on display in our “Virtual Open House” video.

Special thank you to our Director of Development,

Mrs. Elaine McDowell, who has worked tirelessly in her new role to help secure these grants for our school!

Recently, with funding through the Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Grant, our afterschool program supplies and equipment were also updated. Our students now have the use of Chromebooks, a projector, and a printer for use in Zone and clubs!
