C'mon down to the Horny Toad Saloon in the frontier town of Camel Rock! Catch an eyeful as the meanest and ugliest sheriff in town is about to face off with a desperate desperado, a caterwauling cowpoke, a sexy showgirl, and the dumbest deputy this side of the Pecos! Dinner, dessert, and death await you! “Montana Marie Gets Gunned Down at Three” will be performed by Pittsburgh's #1 dinner theatre Company, Mystery's Most Wanted. We invite you to join us for this exciting show! Tickets can be purchased at www.wrc.org or by calling 849-1205. Volunteer Recognition Day In Loving Memory The April Issue of the Ridgmont Review is dedicated in loving memory of our dear friends Betty and Connie. Betty’s strength in her faith has left a lasting impact on us and Connie’s sense of humor will be missed. Country Ridge Cuts Ridgmont’s Beauty Shop hours for the month of April will be 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on April 3 rd , 5 th , 12 th , 17 th , 19 th , 25 th and 26 th . We have also added this symbol on the calendar on these dates for your convenience! You might know that April is National Lawn and Garden Month, but did you know how it started? On April 18, 1986, President Ronald Reagan signed Proclamation 5462 which started National Garden Week to help promote horticulture. National Garden Week was then celebrated for the first time the following year from April 12 through April 18. In 2003, National Garden Week blossomed into National Lawn and Garden Month. The month-long celebration also features Earth Day on April 22. The first Earth Day was formed during the 18th century. There were 20 million people gathered on the streets in the United States to protest the Industrial Revolution. That is when Earth Day was born. The national holiday was recognized worldwide in 1990. National Lawn and Garden Month features Arbor Day on April 26 as well. While trees have many uses, they also have many other uses that people don’t usually think about. For example, they save approximately 8 lives per year in New York City, they help reduce crime, and they help clean our drinking water. This month, let’s celebrate all of the wonderful things about flora and fauna! National Lawn & Garden Month Activities in Review Residents enjoyed musical entertainment provided by Pete Largy and Cathy Jordan. We celebrated St. Patrick’s Day in style! Staff and volunteers brought their furry friends in to Ridgmont to visit the residents during National Puppy Week. The Easter Bunny and friends also stopped by for a visit. They handed out special treats to everyone. Dave Love, a Ridgmont resident, will be recognized in April by the Ridgway YMCA Triathlon, as well as the Ridgway Chainsaw Carvers Rendezvous for his contributions to the community and local recreation. Dave is known to many as an adventurer, businessman, athlete, veteran, former fire chief, Boy Scout, leather worker, photographer, historian, daredevil, and friend. Love started the Triathlon in Ridgway 37 years ago. He was also one of the founders of the Clarion-Little Toby Rail Trail. Dave enjoys recalling all his adventures and stated, “It’s been one adventure after another.” We are very honored by Dave and all his accomplishments.
