My name is Ricardo, I hold a Master’s diploma in Product Design and Visual Communication, and I have a total work experience of 7 years. I successfully designed solutions for vehicles, furniture, electronic products, packages and toys. I’m specialized in 3D CAD modeling for realistic visualizations and for manufacture, such as, injection molding, blow molding, rotomolding, 3D Printing and vacuum forming.

Diamond is my master´s degree project, a c i ty ca r wh ich emphas izes the functionality. Although with its dimensions, the vehicle possess a spacious interior for five passangers due the small electric engines, located in the four wheels. Both front and rear wheels can be driven to allow an easier parking.The doors slide to ease the passenger exit in tight places.Under the trunk, we got a drawer for the spare tire, which is very practical when a fast and efficient change is required.

The interiors were conceived to be as simple aspossible by removing the excessive number ofcompartments. The minimalist aesthetics gives the impression of a bigger space and comfort to the passangers. All the components as the steering wheel, the information panel and the seats were thought toallow a better understanding how they can beused.

Diamond was manually modeled out of mars clay, to be finalized with fiber glass and then painted.The wheels were modeled in Solidworks for 3D printing.

brattu /The compact excavator is an ideal option for tasks where space is an issue. The operating and upkeep cost is low due to its simple design. The excavator body and the mudguard were designed through the injection molding process, providing a better assembly on the metal frame, and an easier parts replacement.

dataprom /The validator is attached inside the vehicle to manage the passenger´s travel credits. The entire data´s system is fully integrated between the bus and the Operational Control Center in real-time.Furthermore, this system enables the financial management of the fleet and the control of the bus route.

SEI /The multi-touch table was designed for SENAI ( Brazilian university of technology), to enhance the way of teaching. The table possess an embedded hardware, two USB entrances, and the screen can be used as a TV. As well it carries an hidden suspension mechanism and two drawers for the 3D glasses.

elo /As the UNDA`s head designer and enthusiasts of the TED and TEDx events, we created a portable lamp called ELO (which means something like “bond” or “link”) which took place on TEDxO’Porto (held on April 28, 2012), to be distrib-uted as a gift-bag. The concept was to give a second life to the gift-bag as a lamp.All of the Designs had to be original pieces with a ‘Portuguese soul’, which demonstrate the best from our country. With this in mind, we created a cork lamp, inspired on handbags, with a cutting tile shape on it.

Machfloss /The Machfloss Evolution is a 3 in1 dispenser with a mouthwash, a floss dispenser and a cup holder in one single product. Given this, the dispenser doesn’t require any special mechanism, which make it simple and intuitive to use.Each element is manufactured out of natural ABS, to then be appl ied an antibacterial additive called Nanox. This additive is recognized worldwide for preventing bacteria proliferation.

boreas /The Luxurious Sideboard by UNDA is called “BOREAS“, and it’s inspired in the Greek God of the cold North Winter and the bringer of Winter. His name means “North Wind” or “Devouring One”. Boreas is depicted as being very strong, with a violent temper to match.Therefore, we designed a piece loaded with a strong personality. The metallic structures detail symbolizes the ice from the North Caves. The interior has a repeated pattern structure painted in copper, symbolizing the devouring personality of Boreas, and two crystal glass shelfs.

xq scooter /Designed to be a multi task vehicle, the XQ, as the name show us, has an “exquisite” way of transport and to be transported.
