Ribbed Slouchy HatYarn: worsted (variegated) yarn/10 plyHook: 5.5 mm/ I hookGauge: no idea (but I guess 3dc = 1 inch)

Start off by chaining 6 and joining into a circle.

Round 1: chain 3 (counts as 1st dc here andthroughout), 11 dc into the circle (12 dc).Sl stto join.

Round 2: chain 3, 1 FPdc on the same stitch,*1 dc + 1 FPdc on the next stitch*, repeat from *to * for a total of 24 stitches (12 dc + 12 FPdc).

Sl st to join.

Round 3: chain 3, 1 dc on the same stitch, 1FPdc on the same FPdc from the previous row*2 dc in next stitch + 1 FPdc on the next stitch*,repeat from * to * for a total of 36 stitches (24dc + 12 FPdc). Sl st to join.

Round 4: chain 3, 1 dc on the same stitch, 1 dcon the next dc, 1 FPdc on the same FPdc from

the previous row *2 dc in next stitch + 1 dc + 1FPdc on the next stitch*, repeat from * to * for atotal of 48 stitches (36 dc + 12 FPdc). Sl st to

join.

Round 5: chain 3, 1 dc on the same stitch, 2 dc on next dc, 1 FPdc on the sameFPdc from the previous row *2 dc in next stitch + 2 dc + 1 FPdc on the nextstitch*, repeat from * to * for a total of 60 stitches (48 dc + 12 FPdc). Sl st to

join.

Round 6: chain 3, 1 dc on the same stitch, 3 dc in each of the next dc, 1 FPdcon the same FPdc from the previous row *2 dc in next stitch + 3 dc + 1 FPdc on

Some tips for this pattern:- FPdcs are always done on the FPdc of the previous row;- Rounds always end with an FPdc.
