Rhea is known as many things like the god of the

moon, the earth, and soil, but she is mainly known as the mother of the

gods.

Rhea’s mother and father were

Gaia and Uranus, Rhea married her brother

Cronus, and they ruled the Titans

on Olympus.

Rhea’s usually seen as a matronly woman, with a

crown, and usually is between her two

lions, or being pulled in a chariot

by them.

Rhea was an Earth Goddess, she was in charge of the fertility of soil, and women. She took over most

of these responsibilities from

her mother Gaia.

Rhea and Cronus had 6

children, Demeter, Hera,

Hestia, Poseidon, Hades and

Zeus.

Rhea was mad at Cronus, and she helped Zeus dethrone him.

After Cronus was killed, Rhea

became less important on

Olympus.
