The two-wing revolving doorKTV 2 is the small version ofthe KTC 2. It is availablewith a diameter of 3,000 mmand 3,400 mm and thuscombines all benefits of theKTC 2/0 (version withoutshowcase) with smallerinstallation dimensions. This makes the KTV 2 thesuitable application wherespace is tight and never-theless a maximum sectionsize and an unobstructed
passage through the center ofthe door system is required. It is appropriate for hospitalsor residential homes for theelderly, but also for officebuildings or hotels. The KTV 2 also provides the elegance of the KTC 2and will thus enhance thefaçade of your building. No matter if surface finishesin RAL colours, anodisedsurface finishes or stainlesssteel coatings of all qualities
– the KTV 2 combines abeautiful entrance area withan intelligent automatic doorsystem.

When entering the door with awheelchair, several factors arerelevant for the comfortableaccessibility of the door system. The most important of all is thesize of the section. The drawingsindicate the space required forcomfortable access with awheelchair plus escort. The required dimensions for awheelchair user plus escort areestimated by the manufacturerDORMA KT-Systems, who recom-mends doors with a diameter of at least 4,200 mm for thispurpose. As a low rotationalspeed is another important factor,a disabled access pushbuttonshould be installed so that the speed may be reduced toapprox. 1 rpm in order to ensure comfortable access forwheelchair users. It should therefore be consideredduring planning, that the doorsystem has to be equipped withadditional safety sensors as anoption. The additional safetyequipment should be installedaccording to the facility operator’srequirements.

In the event of an emergencyactivation, the rotor returns toits starting position (parallelto façade axle) with the aid ofthe rechargeable battery pack.
As soon as the door hasreached this position, themiddle section may beopened manually in order tocreate an escape route.
The rotor travels into nightshield position on activationof the program switch. The integrated night shieldcloses both entrances of
the revolving door at thesame time.

“Automatic I“: The doorstands still. It is started as soon as a personapproaches the doorsystem. Following anadjustable period of timethe door stops andremains in its startingposition.
“Automatic II“: The doorrotates permanently atapprox. 1 rpm. The speedis increased to approx. 3.5 rpm as soon as aperson enters the detec-tion range. Once the userhas left the detectionrange, the rotational speedis reduced again.
2 The speed limiter isactivated by means of aspecial pushbutton toreduce the speed of thedoor during passage toapprox. 2 rpm.
DORMA KTC-2 revolvingdoors offer a broad range ofsafety equipment and thusguarantee maximum safety. The main closing edges areequipped with infraredpresence sensors and safetycontact strips. As the show-case arrives at a point of lessthan 500 mm from the postprofile, the infrared presencesensors are activated inaddition to the safetycontact strips. The verticalouter edges of the nightshield are likewise protectedby safety contact strips. Theinternal area is monitoredwith the aid of an infraredlight curtain. This curtaindetects the presence of any
person or object that ismoving too slowly and wouldthus be overtaken by thewings, and will immediatelyreduce the rotational speedof the operator. If a doorwing meets an obstruction, the door is stopped until the obstruction has beenremoved. All switching paths have afailure control. Additional pre-detectionsensors are integrated intothe canopy, which scan themovement range in front ofthe moving night shield. Thedetection range is located in front of the main closingedge, from the canopy toshort above ground level.
