Hint: Usually only one S between a Subject

Simple PastForm: Regular AND Irregular Verbs

Regular: Add –ed to infinitive form of verb.

Greg walked to class. Irregular: Various rules and forms.

Some patterns but mostly must memorize.

Greg ate dinner.

At a specific time in the past, the action

occurred. It both began and ended in the

past.I watched American Idol on

Simple FutureForm:

ALWAYS Takes at least TWO verbs. Add will to the base form of the verb.

David will build me a bookshelf.

Hint: Future is one of the easiest verb forms!

At a specific point in the future, this action

Hint: One of the most used verb forms in English!

An action which began in the past andis continuing to the present moment.

Sarah is attending class right now.

Hint: Often has a time indicator.

An action that occurred before the present time and was in progress at a specific point in time that another

actionoccurred.

He was driving when it began to rain.

Hint: Used when TWO actions occur in the past. Note: Second Action is simple past!

Future ProgressiveForm:

ALWAYS Takes THREE verbsWill + base form of be verb + Base form of Verb + ing

Hint: Only difference between past and future is the form of be verb!
