Analysis of Strong Bases at Middle pH: The analysis of strong basic compounds

at mid pH provides a further evaluation of the quality of C18 phase because

strong basic compounds such as tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs) are notorious

for poor peak shapes and irreversible adsorption on traditional C18 packing.

The separation of TCAs at pH 7.0 is one of the most important performance

comparisons to clearly distinguish the difference of quality of the columns from

manufacturers. OptisilTM C18 column provides the best peak shape and

resolution for these antidepressants. The high surface coverage and minimal ion

and uniform ion exchange sites of the surface contribute to the excellent peak

shape and chromatographic performance.

TMresearch advantage. There are many different bonding phases in Optisil UHPLC family. Now we

have these bonding phases: C18, AQ-C18. C8, Phenyl, C18, Polar-RP, C18.

Ultra Resolution: better resolution than that of a normal column that is longer, thicker and has TMmore packing quantity than Optisil UHPLC.

Ultra speed: UHPLC offers more information in unit time and higher speed due to its small

particles.

Sensitivity: higher N, narrower peak width (W), higher peak height. The system sensitivity of 1.8µm

UHPLC is 70% and 40% higher than the system sensitivity of 5µm and 3.5µm.
