MISSION STATEMENTThe mission of Midland Fair Havens is to equip single mothers and their children for self-sufficient

living by addressing their educational, vocational, spiritual and emotional needs in residential and non-residential settings.

Our graduates - Midland Fair Havens will have a record numberof 5 graduates this spring! Our moms have worked hard to be

able to take home Associates Degrees in General Studies, AppliedScience and Business. Others will receive their Certifications as aRegistered Nurse and an Aviation Mechanic. All of these specialwomen have overcome tremendous barriers to reach their goals.We want to congratulate them for their determination andperseverance as they "Build a Future for their Families".

The Grandbuddies are senior adults whoreside at Polo Park Retirement Center.Our 'junior buddy' Fair Havens children bakegoodies and make gifts to take to them aboutonce a month. On these special evenings, eachJunior Buddy has a special Grandbuddy thatthey spend time with talking and sharing lifeexperiences. These children have formedrelationships with the older generation wherethey share mutual love and respect. Eachsenior knows that they have valuable lifewisdom to give and the children are eager tolisten!

Following a special dinner brought to us byGrace Lutheran Women’s Mission Group, ourfamilies were treated to a visit from a fireman, AlanKilgore with MFD. He talked about fire safetywith the mothers and children before leading themin a fire drill in the rain! Intrigued by hisoccupation, our children had a chance to ‘step intohis shoes’ for just a few minutes as they tried on hisheavy uniform. The Lord only knows if we have afuture firefighter living at Fair Havens!

Here is little Faith with her cash donation... Our youngest donor onrecord, Faith Siruta earned the money doing chores (picking up

her toys, helping Mommy clean, etc). When her mother asked whatshe does with her money she replied, "I got me some toys and I giveit to Fair Havens." Faith is 4 years old and her mother, Amanda, isalready teaching her to give to others.
