The need to protect civil and military structures against the effects ofexplosions has been increased in the recent years. New computational toolsand methodologies are being experimented and tested for improving blastresistance of the structures using advanced materials and mechanicalsystems. In this research, structural performance predictions will be made onthe basis of the simulation results and experimental data. The simulations willbe based on finite element approach, wherein calibration will be made withthe material characterisation data.
