1. Sew (1) 2 ½” x 42 ½” Fabric B strip to each side of (1) 22 ½” x 42 ½” Fabric A panel. Sew (1) 2 ½” x 26 ½” Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric A panel to make the Center Block (Fig. 1). Trim the block to measure 25” x 45”.

3. Place another 2” Fabric C square on the right side of the 2” x 3 ½” Fabric M strip, right sides together (Fig. 4). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper left corner to the lower right corner (Fig. 4). Flip open the triangle formed and press. Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving a ¼” seam allowance to make (1) Unit 1 strip (Fig. 5).

2. Place one 2” Fabric C square on the left side of one 2” x 3 ½” Fabric M strip, right sides together (Fig. 2). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner (Fig. 2). Flip open the triangle formed and press. Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving a ¼” seam allowance (Fig. 3).

4. Repeat Steps 2-3 to make (8) Unit 1 strips total.

5. Place (1) 3 ⅞” Fabric C square on top of (1) 3 ⅞” Fabric M square, right sides together. Draw a line across the diagonal of the top square (Fig. 6). Sew ¼” away from each side of the drawn diagonal line (Fig. 6). Cut the two squares apart on the drawn diagonal line (Fig. 7) to make two half-square triangles. Trim the half-square triangles to measure 3 ½” to make (2) Unit 2 squares (Fig. 8). Repeat to make (8) Unit 2 squares.

6. Sew (2) Unit 1 strips together, end to end to make the top row. Sew (2) Unit 2 squares together to make the bottom row. Sew the top and bottom row to each side of (1) 2” x 6 ½” Fabric M strip to make (1) 6 ½” Block One square (Fig. 9). Repeat to make (4) Block One squares total.

7. Sew together (11) Fabric K-Template 2 triangles and (12) assorted Template 2 triangles as shown in Figure 10 to make (1) Unit 3 strip.

8. Sew (1) Fabric K-Template 1 triangle to the bottom of the Unit 3 strip. Sew (1) Fabric K-Template 3 triangle to the top of the Unit 3 strip to make (1) Unit 4 strip (Fig. 11).

9. Sew (1) 2 ½” x 48 ½” Fabric L strip to the left side of the Unit 4 strip to make the Left Side Border (Fig. 12).

10. Repeat Steps 7-9 and refer to Figure 13 for fabric identification and placement to make the Right Side Border.

Quilt Top Assembly - Version #1(Follow the Quilt Layout while assembling the quilt top.)13. Sew (1) 2 ¼” x 45” Fabric C strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 2 ¼” x 28 ½” Fabric C strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.

14. Sew the Left Side Border and Right Side Border to the left and to the right of the Center Block. Sew the Top Border and Bottom Border to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.

15. Sew (1) 4” x 60 ½” Fabric N strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 4” x 47 ½” Fabric N strip to the top and bottom of the Center Block.

17. Repeat Step 16 to sew (1) 9 ½” x 69” Fabric O strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block, making sure to stop and start ¼” away from each end of the block. To miter each corner, fold the Center Block on a diagonal, wrong side together. This should line up the strips from adjacent sides (Fig. 16).

Finishing - Both Versions19. Layer and quilt as desired.

20. Sew the (6) 2 ½” x WOF Fabric I strips (Version 1) or (8) 2 ½” x WOF I strips (Version 2) together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press.

21. Bind as desired.

Quilt Top Assembly - Version #2(Follow the Quilt Layout while assembling the quilt top.)16. Center (1) 9 ½” x 89” Fabric O strip on (1) side of the Center Block and pin in place. Start sewing the strip a ¼” from the top edge of the block and stop a ¼” from the bottom edge. DO NOT TRIM THE EXCESS. Repeat with the opposite side.

18. Starting at the sewn seam (represented by the arrow in Figure 16), draw a 45-degree line to the edge of the fabric. Sew on the drawn line. Trim the excess fabric leaving a ¼” seam. Repeat this step with the remaining corners.
