TORTOISE TURTLE

Reptiles have scales that cover and protect their body.

Reptiles breathe with their lungs.

Reptiles are cold-blooded.They get warmth from the Sun during the day.

Most reptiles are oviparous and lay their eggs on land.

Most reptiles are carnivores.

The skin of snakes is different from the skin of mammals.

A snake’s skin can’t grow, so snakes need to lose a layer of skin as they

grow.

Tortoises and turtles have a shell.

TORTOISE TURTLE

Tortoises live on land. They’re herbivores.

Turtles live in water, but they lay their eggs on land. They’re omnivores.

Lizards also lose a layer of skin as they grow.

Some lizards can also lose their tail to protect from predators, but the tail usually grows back.

The scales of crocodiles grow as the crocodile grows.

Crocodiles can move quickly both on land and in water.
