Reptiles
A Museum of Science Traveling Program
Description
Reptiles is a 30-minute
presentation about a
diverse, successful, and
fascinating group of
animals.
Needs
We bring all materials and
equipment, including a
camera, video projector,
and screen. Access to
110-volt electricity is
required.
Space Requirements
The program can be set up in any room at least
12’ by 18’ in area, with additional space for the
audience. Outdoor programs are also possible.
Live Animals
The presentation includes
three live reptiles. We
bring a variety in order to
showcase both how
reptiles have diversified
and what they still have in
common.
Live Animals
The Museum has a large
collection of live reptiles,
including many species of
snakes, lizards and
turtles.
Live Animals
Smaller Animals can be
magnified using a camera
when programs are held
indoors.
Demonstrations
Programs sometimes
include demonstrations of
reptile adaptations, using
volunteers from the
audience.
Biofacts
Although we don’t offer
the opportunity for
audiences to touch live
animals, we always bring
biofacts like skins and
bones specifically for this
purpose.
