INTRODUCTION:

Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies, Kodakara has started functioning from 28 June, 2012

with four currently relevant Programmes such as B.Sc. Psychology, BCA, BCom and BBA.

Now, in this academic year 2015-16, there are 13 relevant programmes in UG level and 2

programmes in PG level.

A BRIEF HISTORY AT A GLANCE:

Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies is the latest and novel venture of the Diocese of

Irinjalakuda which had been carved out of the Diocese of Thrissur in 1978. It had its humble

beginning with minimal resources at hand and a young Bishop Mar James Pazhayattil who was

then only 50 years of age, at the helm of affairs with a handful number of priests. It was a great

mission on his part to give shape to the Diocese of this size and nature. Needless to say he

accomplished his task with tremendous speed which one cannot imagine. Apart from many other

ventures, education was one of his prominent agenda. With this in view, he had started far back

the prestigious Sahrdaya College of Engineering and Technology which has completed a decade

and celebrated its decennial, reckoned to be the best and the leading Engineering College in the

whole of the State of Kerala. Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies is yet another prestigious

undertaking which has recently started with immense success near at sight. At the very initial

year the College could bag four programmes at a stretch from the University which could

function with no time lost and with the required number of competent staff generating

confidence in all who were associated in one way or other from within and without.

Values are those recognized as being the most effective for long term well being of self and of

others. Through Value Education we aim at helping out our students by transmitting the

ideologies of the socially acceptable values stated and acquired by knowledgeable people. The

sessions dedicated to value education, revolve around topics that develop in the

students;awareness and respect for human values and to enhance their personality. Value

education exams were conducted subsequent to intensive classes and marks were sent to the

University as per the norms.

Placement Cell

At present, the Placement Cell is constituted with staff and student representatives to gear up

activities meant to identify openings in the industry for those seeking jobs after the completion of

their program. It also aims to provide them with industry relevant training so as to make them

employable. Another functional objective of the Cell is to aid others with career guidance for
