REPORT ON VICENZAORO WINTER 2014
The first event in the International jewellery exhibition calendar, "VICENZAORO
Winter" has always been the most reliable gauge for forecasting trends and
prospects of the business to come for the global Jewellery industry. The January
show VicenzaOro, strategically scheduled at the beginning of the year, provided the
first indications on how the market is going and a shimmer of cautious optimism.
The industry was able to make positive judgments on business and on-going
orders; the influx of international retailers confirmed VicenzaOro Winter's key role
in providing a chance to further business and to plan the coming year. While Italian
retail, despite being blighted by a persistently complex market context, showed
signs of renewed interest. The result have been most encouraging, with buyers and
retailers from 106 Countries.
VICENZAORO Winter exalts the conjunction of jewellery and “The Future, Now”,- a
showcase for excellence, a place in which to promote the very best of Italy, the
strength of the creative industry that is Made in Italy and Italy’s openness to the
world and to new markets and International excellence. This year the show started
on 18th January, 2014 and was on till 23rd January.
EXHIBITION AREA: 70,500 square metres

MERCHANDISE CATEGORIES
The exhibition was divided into various
categories viz. Machined and hand-crafted
gold jewelry, platinum jewelry, silverware,
costume jewelry, watches, precious and semi-
precious stones, natural and cultivated pearls,
corals and cameos, seals, plaques, semi-finished goods. Jewel cases and
accessories. Trade press from Italy and other countries were also present to cover
the show and promote their publication. The event hosted over 1300 companies
and brand partners of VICENZAORO from the Italian gold districts and 30 foreign
countries.
The inauguration ceremony of the VICENZAORO Winter 2014 held under the
leadership of Mr. Matteo Marzotto, President, Fiera Di Vicenza in the presence of
other leading personalities and press at 11 am in the Palladio Room. In the
inaugural speech Mr. Marzotto said "Vicenza Oro Winter is a world first, the opening
of an international year, able to foresee and, we believe, also direct trends in the
industry for 2014. It is a little opportunity for the future of jewellery industry, and
enormously for the future important responsibility in a year that should mark the
beginning of a period of recovery."

The organizers have allotted 128.2 sq.m. area
at Pad(Pavilion) C, 44.8 sq.m. area at Pad G
& 32 sqm at Pad A- Gemworld covering total
Area of 201.64 sq.m.
There were in total 13 exhibitors in the Indian
contingent who participated in this edition of
the fair of which 2 were located in Pad A, 3
were located in PAD G and 8 exhibitors in Pad
C along with complimentary booth for the Council. Exhibitors were happy with the
location, ambience and arrangements.

OBJECTIVES OF INDIA PAVILION IN VICENZA SHOW:
� To show case capabilities of Indian jewellers to the European market. � To provide exhibitors of Indian pavilion with facilities like common branding,
promotion, Fax, etc. necessary for smooth business during the show. � Facilitate Indian Exhibitors with ready booth for display of their gems &
jewellery save their time & other resources.
� To promote Signature 2014 & GGJF, Dubai and attract quality buyers to the show from Italy & other countries besides promoting India Pavilion.
ACTIVITIES RELATED TO INDIA PAVILION
Council is utilizing the various promotional methods to promote India pavilion in all
shows of Vicenza. In Vicenzaoro Winter 2014 Council has taken special initiatives to
promote the exhibitors under India Pavilion & the Indian gem & jewellery industry
in general like
Advertisement on the Arcade in East Entrance of the exhibition venue.
One Full Page advertisement in Vioro Magazine mentioning the names of the
exhibitors at all the locations.
Display of Promotional posters having the list of exhibitors & names of other
International shows where Council is organising India Pavilions were put up at the
Council booth.
� Promotional Booth
Council was having Booth No. 2034-B at Pad C for it self which was used for the
promotion of Council’s activities. The forth coming shows Signature and GGJF were
also promoted from the Council Booth. A promotional kit containing the following
material was handed over to all the visitors from the Council booth:
► Exclusive Directory of India Pavilion ► Solitaire magazine
► Sparkle of Success ► Promotional bags
� GJEPC was represented by Mr. Sanjay Singh, Regional Director, Jaipur and Mr. Kaushik Ghosh, Manager-Exhibitions, GJEPC-Eastern Region.
Following meetings were held during Vicenzaoro Winter 2014
Meeting with Susan Lee of Jewellery Arabia 2014.:
A meeting was held with Mr. Susan Lee on 20th January, 2014 , wherein she
informed that the organizer of Jewellery Arabia are going to increase space in the
coming edition i.e in November, 2014 show. This new area measuring around 1200
Sq. m. will be developed in tent like other halls. The location of this hall will be at
the main entrance of the show . Half of the area of this hall has already been taken
by Thailand. Ms. Lee offered the remaining area to Council for Indian Exhibitors
who could not get space in the show. The participation cost will be same as the
existing Indian Pavilion. Further, Ms. Lee also wanted to have fashion show of
Indian Jewellery during the Show. On this, the Regional Director, Mr. Sanjay Singh
suggested her to visit the IIJW Mumbai being held in Dubai, so that they can have
the feel of IIJW. Ms. Lee informed that she will ask the C.E.O of the show to visit
GGJF 2014 for this purpose.
Indian Evening.
An evening get together on dinner was organized by the Indian Jewellers in Italy
which was attended by all the exhibitors of Indian Pavilion. This get together was
supported by the Fiera di Vicenza. The Consul General if India, Mr. Manish Prbhat
visited the get together. The Director General of Fiera Di Vicenza, Mr. Corado Facco
was also present on this occasion.
Mr. Manish Prabhat , C.G.I welcomed the Indian Guests and stressed for stronger
ties between India and Italy specially between Jewellers of the two Countries. Mr.
Facco in his speech said the year 2015 will be a new era for the show as some new
area for the show shall be developed. This gathering on dinner is being organized
by the Indian Jewellers in Italy for last 3 years. Such events should be encouraged
because they show the unity of the industry.
Observations:
• Exhibitors initiated new business relation in terms of new buyers • Exhibitors under Indian Pavilions were happy with their location.
• There was a general opinion that the pavilion was well organized by the Council and they got satisfactory business enquiries.
• The response of the exhibitors of India Pavilion regarding ambiance and service was very good.
• The show, as far as the exhibitors were concerned, was encouraging.
