Drilldown in R12 Report Manager~ For Internal Use Only~Introduction

This document is intended to help consultants implementing R12 Report Manager, with the process of drilling down into the core applications from an HTML or Excel FSG Report. The functionality enables drilldown into Account Balances and further still to drilldown to Journal Entry Lines, Summary Accounts transaction level within the Core Oracle Apps. In the Oracle Applications Home Page, open Report Manager Super User.

Click on Financial Report Template Editor, the following screen is displayed.

Editing an Existing Template In the above screen there is the option to either create a new template or edit an existing template that already resides in the repository. For the purposes of this document we shall be editing an exisiting template and then uploading it into the repository 1) Click on the Report Name Field and hit the Magnifying Glass Icon. 2) This will open a search screen (see below), with a list FSGs that have been created in the Core Apps.

3) Click on the Quick Select Icon for the required report. 4) The previous screen is returned, click on the Modify Existing Radio button followed by the find icon, a list of report templates will be displayed.

5) Again click on the Quick Select icon for the relevant Template Name. 6) In the Editor Selection region of the screen click on the Editor selection drop down box and select Excel Template Editor.

7) Click Create. A creating document screen will appear and an Excel based Template will subsequently open. The required template will be displayed (see below). At this point make any required changes to the template.

8) Click on the Oracle menu option in Excel, and then click Upload.

The following screen is displayed, you will be asked to input parameters.

9) Input a template name, select the required language and tick the Enable Drill tick box. The enable drill option allows the generated reports to utilise the drilldown functionality. Without this option you will not be able to use drilldown in the reports. 10) Click Upload. 11) Upon successful completion the following confirmation will be displayed.

12) Click close and return to Oracle Applications Home Page. Submitting Financial Reports 1) Click on the Financial Report Submission link. This will open the Submission Parameters screen (below).

2) In the Report Name field click on the find icon. Select the required report. 3) In the Period field, click on the find icon. Select the required period for you report.

4) Click Next. The Publshing Parameters screen will subsequently open.

5) Clear the data inside the Default Template field and click on the find icon. This will display all the templates in the repository.

6) Select the required template using Quick Select and click next. The Storage Location screen will appear. 7) Select the location where you want to store the report in the repository. Either use an existing location or create a new one. By using an existing location a Warning Screen will be generated. Click Yes to overwrite this. 8) To create a menu item in the Oracle Applications Home Page click on the Create Menu Item for this Report? Tick box. 9) Click Next. The following Review screen will appear.

10) Click Submit. A confirmation screen will appear, click on the Monitor Requests Button.

11) Click on the Output Icon for the Publish and Presentation Program 12) Select the Correct Timeframe and Output Type, HTML, PDF or Excel and Click Go. The following reports are generated, an HTML page and an Excel Spreadheet. Both of these will have links, which will allow drilldown into Account Balances and further still to drilldown into the transaction level within the Core Oracle Apps.

Drilldown from Reports When the report is created the values within the report will contain links to the screens where drilldown into the account balances is available. 1) Click on a value contained within the report. For HTML formats double click on the underlined values (these behave as hyperlinks). For Excel versions double click on the cell containing the value you are drilling down on. The following screen will be displayed.

2) Select the required account range and click on Continue.

3) Click on the New Search button

4) Click Go.

5) Here we can see a list of accounts and the subsequent balances against them. The values with an "underline" are hyperlinks, which enable you to Drilldown further into the Journal entry lines screen.

6) Click on a Debit/Credit value.

7) Click on the View Transaction button to open the Oracle Core Applications, the following will appear.

8) Alternatively click on the View Journal Entry button, to drill into details of the Journal entry.

Warning!!!!Up to release 12.0.3 a bug exists whereby any negative values on the report are not displayed. This has been fixed in 12.0.4 however a patch exists in RUP 3. Bug No: 6507358 Patch No:6507358
