LITERACY VOLUNTEERS OF RENSSELAER COUNTYANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF NEW PRESIDENT-Caitlin Stein-Miner has been elected to serve as President of theBoard of Directors of Literacy Volunteers of Rensselaer County(LVORC). She has served on the Board since 2011, attaining theposition of Vice President in 2013. She has been active in themany events that financially support LVORC including chairingthe Literacy 5K in 2012. Ms. Stein-Miner received a Bachelor’Degree in Sociology and Human Services with a minor in Spe-cial Education from Russell Sage College and a Master’s De-gree in Social Work from The University at Albany. She is pres-ently a clinician at Samaritan Hospital Outpatient Clinic. Previ-ously, she worked for 17 years as a case manager in differentcapacities for Rensselaer County and more recently worked onthe BHO project in New York State. She is most proud of herrole as a mom to two active teenagers. Literacy Volunteers ofRensselaer County is a nonprofit educational organization thatrecruits, trains and supports volunteers to provide free, confi-dential tutoring to adults, out-of-school teens, children and fami-lies. One-to-one and small group tutors provide instruction inreading, writing, math, conversational English, and financial lit-eracy, helping learners to achieve personal, social, educationaland job-related goals.
