In a very thorough and comprehensive ap- proach, IBBK Fach- gruppe Biogas GmbH aims to bring all partici- pants up to date on the national and interna- tional status quo in the field of biogas produc- tion and usage. The past events attracted anywhere between 300 and 400 international experts from all conti- nents. With this event happening again in 2017, there is no rea- son to expect a lesser outcome. The developments in the fields of production and process engineer- ing, frame conditions and use possibilities will be presented and discussed in contri- butions to and from practice, science and politics. The International Conference “Prog-

ress in biogas IV” will be held in Stuttgart, Germany March 8th to 11th 2017 at the Uni-versity of Hohenheim. It is organized by IbbK fachgruppe biogas GmbH in cooperation with the University of Hohenheim.

This conference represents the fourth installment of its kind. This edition of the conference cov-ers the advances on lowtech-biogas plants, biogas generation from biowaste and waste-water treatment plants, digestate application and management, innovative digestion technologies, pretreat-ment technologies, gas cleaning and gas pro-cessing as well as the optimal integration of biogas in the energy system. The model-ing, controlling of the biogas process and the inhibition of the process will be also discussed.

The conference will last two days and is divided into parallel sessions. On the third day, a “workshop day,” in the framework of a total of four work-shops (two in parallel in the morning, two in parallel in the after-noon) will take place. On the fourth day the participants will have the opportunity to visit several attractions in the metropolitan re-gion of Stuttgart on a guided excursion.
