2) X-ism is a philosophical, ethical or religious tradition of Chinese origin that emphasizes living in harmony with the X. The term X means "way", "path" or "principle", and can also be found in Chinese philosophies. It is practised in countries like China, Japan, Korea and Vietnam.

Its theology is not dependent on the existence of an anthropomorphic godlike figurehead (even though some communities do worship Laozi as the attributed founder of the philosophical doctrine), and has more affinities with pantheistic traditions given its philosophical emphasis on the formlessness of the X.

The YING-YANG symbol is derived from the prinicples of X-ism and is considered a symbol of this religion.

10)The lion on a recumbent elephant motif is a very popular theme of decoration in Orissa art and excellent examples of this are available at Konark. It is believed that the pattern of “the lion vanquishing the elephant” symbolizes “the conquest of spiritual power over worldly power”; to another scholar it was the “symbol of ignorance conquered by knowledge” It is also believed that these “possibly are allegories of the Sun’s (lion’s) triumph over the rain (elephant)”.But famously it is also argued that the motif represents victory of X over Y, the lion being fancifully taken to be the symbol of the former and the elephant of the latterName X and Y
