• 23,700 registered charities, including 163 housing associations.

• 20,000 grass roots community groups, sports and arts clubs

• Over 3,500 social enterprises

• 4000 grant making trusts, funding activities in Scotland and abroad

• 423 community interest companies

• 107 credit unions

• The Third Sector works alongside, but separate from the first and second sectors i.e. (Private and public sectors).

TSI Support Areas

Third Sector Interfaces (TSI’s) are based in each of the 32 local authority areas across Scotland and provide a range of services to sport clubs as part of their remit to support community groups, voluntary organisations, charities, social enterprises, co-operatives and individual volunteers.

• Help to identify and make improvements within the organisation

• Encourage & support to ensure a diverse range of volunteers to sit on committees/boards
