As another year commences, we are con- fronted with a whole lot of new beginnings. First of all the office staff have changed somewhat significantly. Carrie McCormick is our new Co-ordinator of Ministries within the parish and she will commence with us in the next few weeks. At the same time, our committed and dedicated Secretary, Kelly, has landed herself a plum job at Centa- care at Daisy Hill and she leaves us around the same time to start there about the 18th January. We wish Kelly well in her new en- deavours. But that’s not all. We have another person to take on the role of Secretary for our parish. Her Name is Christy Gracias, and she will commence around the same time that Kelly departs. So 2019 will bring a whole new staff to our parish who will no doubt bring their own particular gifts and talents to bear to enable us to continue to grow into the future. New Year, New beginnings, New Staff. I am sure that it will indeed be a Happy New Year. God Bless Fr John. Please remember: This is January and usually the slow month of the year before the chaos of February and new life begins to emerge in parish and school communities. Not much is happening in the parish at this time, so it is an opportunity to sit down and begin to plan and prepare possible dates and proposal to present to the Pastoral lead- ership Team that will meet in early February so that we can begin to see what 2019 may look like for us as people of faith. Here are some hints of what 2019 will contain for us. ALPHA (again); Living Biblically (Archbishop Coleridge’s Scriptural presentations) Lenten Journey to Easter. Light and Presence Prayer Evenings will begin again on Tuesday 5th Feb, 2019 Youth Masses and Youth Events; Sacramental Journey for Confir- mation and Eucharist. Continuing Anointing Masses in the Parish and in Nursing Homes. The usual Parish Monthly Meetings of Leadership; of Finance; of Baptism preparation, and Liturgy Planning meetings as required. There will also be the usual Ministry Formation sessions for Readers, Eucharistic Ministers, Collectors and hopefully Altar Servers. I am also hoping to connect more into the School Community and invite (entice) staff, parents and students to come and have a look at Mass on Sunday. That would be marvellous. I live in hope. So let us see how we go when they come back from holidays. Bring on 2019!!! ARCHDIOCESAN EVENTS WATCH THIS SPACE IN 2019

YOUTH EVENTS

Our first Youth Mass for 2019 will take place on Satur-day Evening 9th February at 6:00pm. I am inviting the young, the not-so-young; and the young at heart to come along and celebrate the great gift that God has given to us through the Eucharist. What will happen at that Mass, I do not know, but something will happen, because God has promised us that it would. Musicians: I need young people who can sing and play and instrument to come along and bring life to the ministry of music at that Mass. There will be a time to get together to do some practicing, and it will be out of that session that we will look at the Music for the Mass. I also need young people who CANNOT SING to come along as well, and make a noise to fill the church with song, no matter what. Watch this space for further Information and sign up when you are approached at Mass. Please remember, God NEEDS YOU; I NEED YOU and our parish NEEDS YOU. Come along and make a difference.
