A web-based Geotechnical Geographic Information System (GeoGIS) was developed and tested for the Alabama Department of Transportation. This web-based system stores geotechnical information about transportation projects, such as subsurface data, construction drawings, and design information. Typically, this information is in a report or plan sheet format, but raw geotechnical data can also be accommodated in the GeoGIS. The goal of this system is to provide easy access and storage for all geotechnical and subsurface structural information from across a state. Access through a secure web interface allows for keyword searches and interactive map selection. The web-based GeoGIS has four geotechnical layers (project, bridge, foundation, and soil boring) that can be displayed on a road map, aerial photos, or USGS 7.5 minute quadrangles. For testing purposes the GeoGIS was populated with multiple document types, formats, and sizes. In all cases, the system performed above expectations. 1. Introduction The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) and other state highway agencies from across the country have amassed significant quantities of information related to geotechnical engineering within their respective states. Geotechnical information includes, but is not limited to, subsurface investigation data, laboratory testing, construc- tion drawings, design information, and performance data [1]. This information is very valuable to future projects, and therefore proper stewardship over the data is an impor- tant component of the engineering process. Geotechnical information can come from a number of sources including bureaus from within a department and from a number of outside consultants. The majority of geotechnical informa- tion is collected during the early stages of a project, but some information is collected during construction and some dur- ing the life of a project for monitoring purposes. This infor- mation may be submitted to the central oce or to district oces. Historically, this information has been submitted on paper in the form of reports, plans, or test results. Currently, the paper format is being replaced with electronic versions. Because of the complex nature of project documentation management, maximizing the benefit of past geotechnical data is virtually impossible. It was determined in the state of Alabama that a geotechnical document management system was needed to electronically upload, store, and access geotechnical and subsurface structural data for transporta- tion projects in the state. A geotechnical data management system, based on a Geographic Information System (GIS), was developed to meet ALDOT requirements. The prototype Geotechnical Geographic Information System (GeoGIS) was developed and tested on a desktop computer. Based on the success of the prototype system, the GeoGIS was migrated from a desktop-based system to a web-based system. The web-based GeoGIS allows authorized users access to geotechnical documents and a GIS map from any computer that has an internet connection. This greatly increased the availability of the GeoGIS by creating a means for field engineers and authorized consultants to access the system. 2. Background Most researchers who have tackled the issue of storing and visually representing geotechnical data have chosen to create a standard method of identifying elemental data. These methods can employ a relational database to store data

C E R T I F I C AT I O N SRegal Wine is pleased to offer this book of Certified Organic wine and beer producers. The importance of organic farming and production remains prevalent in our industry, with customers who are more informed than ever and who are making day-to-day purchases with a conscious eye towards clean & green products. We are proud that many of the producers in our portfolio work naturally and organically; some with certifications, and many without. This book is comprised of just the producers who hold certifications, because we understand that it’s essential for customers, retailers, and restauranteurs alike to be able to easily identify wines and beers that they can trust to carry the values and practices of organic production. Each producer within these pages will hold at least one certification from the organizations below.

Demeter – Biodynamic Certification. Biodynamic farming involves managing a farm utilizing the principles of a living organism. In day-to-day practice the goal is to create a farm system that is minimally dependent on imported materials, and instead meets its needs from the living dynamics of the farm itself.

EU Organic – Classifies organic production as an overall system of farm management and production that combines best environment practices, a high level of biodiversity, the preservation of natural resources and the application of high animal welfare standards. The use of chemical pesticides and synthetic fertilizers is banned, GMOs are not allowed, and crops are rotated.

EcoCert (ECOCERT) - is an inspection and certification body established in France in 1991 by agronomists aware of the need to develop environmentally friendly agriculture and of the importance of offering some form of recognition to those committed to this method of production. Since its creation, ECOCERT has specialized in the certification of organic agricultural products.

Suolo e Salute – Suolo e Salute is a Control and Certification Body for agriculture and the environment that derives from the Suolo e Salute Association, founded in Turin in 1969, a pioneer in the development and promotion of the organic farming method.

ENEEK – The Council of Agirculture and Ecological Food of Euskadi (Basque Country). This certifying organization classifies organic farming as a production system based on land. Therefore, the care and enrichment of the land is a priority through management of crop health and biodiversity.

Consell Català de la Producció Agrària Ecològica (CCPAE) – The supervisory authority of Catalonia that audits and certifies organic products in this region. To be certified organic by the CCPAE, agricultural products must be produced without the use of chemical fertilizers or synthetic pesticides. Instead, organic fertilizers and natural plant protection methods must be used. Products must meet strict requirements regarding additives, such as flavor enhancers, artificial dyes, and preservatives.

Agriculture Biologique (AB) – AB is used by the French Ministry of Agriculture and Fishing to certify organic products. AB requirements must be followed in addition to those requested by EU-Organic, and an annual inspection is required to maintain certification.

Oregon Department of Agriculture – Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA) is a USDA-accredited certifying agent for organic crop production and organic handling/processing.

California Certified Organic Farmers – An independent party that was the first to provide certification services to all stages of the organic food chain from farms to processors, restaurants, and retailers. As an original in the organic movement, CCOF has been a critical player in the development of certification processes and organic standards. The CCOF name and seal has been trusted as the mark of organic integrity by consumers and buyers worldwide since 1973.

USDA Organic – Farmers and businesses must follow USDA standards to have their products labeled and sold as certified organic. Some primary guidelines - organic and non-organic foods must be grown separately, and it is prohibited to use any of the following: use of toxic or synthetic fertilizers, GMOs, synthetic growth hormones, artificial preservatives/flavors/colors.

Bios SRL – Organic certification that considers the entire agricultural ecosystem, promotes the biodiversity of the environment in which it operates and limits or excludes the use of synthetic products and genetically modified organisms.

ICEA Certified Organic – A non-profit consortium that certifies organic production following the guidelines of EU Organic standards. The ICEA trademark over the years has become a synonym of guarantee, control and quality for organic production.

Certificazione Biologica Q Certificazioni – This Italian certifying organization recognizes an organic production method that conserves biological production systems, without the use of synthetic chemicals, performing a function of environmental protection and conservation of rural areas, uses renewable energies in the best possible way and enhances the territorial, environmental and natural resources of the region.

BioGro NZ – New Zealand’s leading organic certifier since 1983, with the nations largest database of organic farmers, organic producers and organic manufacturers from here and across the Pacific. BioGro has been at the forefront of the organics movement, as we aim to simplify organic certification through innovation allowing producers to display NZ’s most trusted organic logo, giving consumers trust in the mark of a genuine organic product.

Entidad Nacional de Acreditación (ENAC) – The purpose of ENAC is to build trust in the market and in the wider community in relation to the technical competence of accredited conformity assessors, thus contributing to people’s safety and welfare, the quality of products and services, and environmental protection, and thereby to the increased competitiveness of Spanish products and services and to a reduction in the costs for society due to these activities.

Australian Certified Organic (ACO) – ACO is ISO9001 certified company that provides certification to the National and International organic certification standards including the Australian Certified Organic Standards (ACOS) to enable certified operators to use the Bud Logo. The Australian Certified Organic logo (known as the ‘bud’) is Australia’s organic industry’s leading logo. It carries with it the ability to market organic produce on both domestic and international markets with confidence and market advantage. The logo is well recognized both in Australia, and now in increasingly key areas such as Asia, Europe and the US.

Château Ferran St Pierre is a historic estate dating back to the 12th century. At that time the estate was known as Tucaou, a name which is still represented in the name of the higher end cuvees of the estate. Tucaou refers to the medieval buildings and forests that surround the vineyard. The estate was purchased by the Ferran family in 1976 and became a leader of organic and biodynamic practices for the whole region. Owner and winemaker Julien Ferran’s father is in fact one of the most respected and well-known biodynamic winemaking consultants in all of France. The family has, however, been in the wine business for over 5 generations.

Located in Bordeaux’s Entre-Deux-Mers region, this was one of France’s pioneering organic wine estates, converting to organic practices in 1964. Winemaker at the time, Paul Bouron, passionately invested in organic production in an attempt to improve the health of himself and his family. That same year, Paul became one of the founders of Nature et Progrès(the first association of consumers and producers actively promoting the development of organic and biodynamic practices). Now run by the fifth generation, the family business remains conducted by methods, which respect the natural rhythms and balances of the land. Fertilizers are of plant origin or made from manure of sheep and horses. They activate and increase the soil microbial activity, an essential part of the humus layer, and consequently, ensure the vitality of the soil and the vine’s own strength. Natural grass is used for the proliferation of predatory species of parasites of the vine. Vine protection against diseases caused by fungi is provided by means of plant extracts, vine management and low amount of sulfur. A mechanical sorting table, plus manually sorting, assure the highest quality production.

The Despagne family, rooted in the soils of Saint Emilion for over three centuries, has been involved in the winemaking world for at least 11 generations. This unmeasurable level of savoir faire, experience and tradition accumulated by different generations of growers, coopers, winemakers, merchants and proprietors has imparted the family with a certain wisdom that bears the test of time. In 1972, by inheritance, the family acquired parts of the vineyards purchased by Louis Rapin between 1938 and 1964, located in Montagne, in Saint Emilion, in Pomerol and in Libourne to which they added other plots they purchased in Saint Emilion and Pomerol. The estate is currently owned and operated by Françoise Rapin and Gérard Despagne along with their three children Nicolas, François and Nathalie Despagne.

One of the top estates in the Coteaux d’Aix, a small, fine-wine district within the larger appellation of Provence, With more than 160 acres under vines, 2/3 of the production is dedicated to the dry rosé for which Provence is famous. Founded by Templar knights in the 13th century, the property was named “Bargemone” after the wealthy Provencal family that owned it for 200 years. It passed from their hands in the 1800’s, with the vineyards finally succumbing to phylloxera, temporarily ending, a proud 800 yeartradition of winemaking. In 1973, French industrialist Jean-Pierre Rozanpurchased the property, restored the Commanderie and replanted the vineyards. Production was up to 50,000 cases/year when Jean-Pierre passed away in 2006, and a controlling interest in the vineyards and winery was sold to current owners Christian and Marina Garin (both from local Provencal families).

ALSACE

CERTIFICATION: EU Organic, Agriculture Biologique

Gérard and Gabrielle Neumeyer farm almost 40 acres of vine parcels in and around the village of Molsheim, about 20 minutes west of Strasbourg in the northern part of Alsace (Bas-Rhin). Gérard tends all of his parcels meticulously by hand using only natural vine and soil treatments. Harvest is of course, also manual. From vineyard to the cellar, gentle handling of the delicate grapes is of paramount importance. In the cellar, Gérard takes every measure to ensure that both the terroir and individual character of each variety is fully expressed. All of his white wines (he also makes a little Pinot Noir) are aged on their lees in large, older, oak foudres. Domaine Neumeyer’s wines are perennially ranked among the appellation’s best by Guide Hachette, Bettane & Desseauve and La Revue du Vin de France.

The family estate was constructed around 1826. Each succeeding generation proved every bit as attached to the terroir of Laure Minervois as their ancestors had been, and the property has been developing ever since. Located in the South of France (Languedoc), 25km East of Carcassonne in the heart of the Minervois Wine Appellation. Today, the estate is made up of 200 acres of vineyards and over 1000 olive trees, some of which date back to the 17th century. In 1982, MarieClaude along with her husband Jean-Louis, himself a vintner from a long line of winegrowers, took over the direction of the estate from her parents. Today, in keeping with tradition, the next generation, Frédérique and her husband Jean-François. Over time, the family has taken care to conserve the finest of the old varieties while updating and improving the rest of the vineyard. The result is a rich diversity of wines, each of which can be traced back to a specific plot of vines. The tower (tour in French), for which the Estate is named, is a remnant of the village’s fortifications dating back to the 12th century and can be found today in the garden of the Estate.

This “rootedness” shows itself to be anyting but static for Peio Espil, this pilgrim of the vinous ideal, a true researcher of the appellation. A family of viticulturists going back five generations to the 1870’s, the Eguren family were responsible for founding Bodegas Sierra Cantabria in 1956, and more recently launched their value-oriented Dominio de Eguren. The Eguren’s philosophy has always revolved around viticulture, as their history lies firmly intertwined with the vineyards surrounding San Vicente de la Sonsierra. Pulling from viticulturalknowledge, the Eguren family lease vineyards of Tempranillo, Bobal, Macabeo, and Airén in Manchuela(in southeast Spain) on long term contracts.

The Palacio de Canedo estate has been associated with wine since 1730. In that era it was run by the Lord and Lady of Canedo, nowadays by Prada and Flor. In 1987 Prada decided to buy the palace with the main idea to keep it alive and create a winery that works with the land. He operates on 30 hectares of land with 60-70 year old vines that are all hand harvested. At 600-800m elevation, the wines retain bright acidity. Operating as a certified organic establishment, insecticides and weed killers are never used. The goal is a clean and aromatic wine.

Sabate i Coca Castellroig is one of the very few 100% family-owned, estate-run traditional method sparkling wine houses in Penedes. (Currently less than 20 from over 270 producers!), and one of just nine producers comprising the new traditional method category, CORPINNAT. Father and son, Marcelino Sabaté and Marcel Sabaté i Coca represent the third and fourth generations of Sabate organic grape-growing with complete respect for the environment and varietals native to their land. The Sabaté i Coca estate is distributed across 18 terroirs, 62 parcels, and 40 hectares throughout the Valle del Bitlles. Grapes are carefully selected for each bottling and hand-harvested from each of these terroirs.

Marcel and Marcelino have established two ranges: The ‘Castellroig’ range of wines expresses the harmony and complexity of the more than 60 micro-plots that make up their estate, while the wines of the ‘Sabate iCoca’ range are derived from singular soils. These ‘singulars’ result in wines with a vibrant varietal ‘typicity’ that best expresses the mineral content of the vineyard. Sabate i Coca ‘singular’ wines are Terroja, JosepCoca, and the qualified plot “Cava de paratge qualificat” Terroja of Sabaté i Coca Reserva Familiar, produced from an over-100 year old xarel-lo vineyard.

PENEDES~CORPINNAT

CERTIFICATION: CCPAE(cont.) With complete dedication to producing wines reflective of the soil, the concept of ‘Vins de Terrer’ was born. A location 40km south of Barcelona affords a privileged location with a valley protected by mountains and a moderate climate due to the close proximity to the Mediterranean coast. Marine sediment embedded in the soil promotes vines with a longer, slower ripening cycle and added complexity in the grapes. Castellroig achieves the ultimate expressions of these different parcels with extra focus on the native Xarel-lo grape. Capable of achieving the greatest aromatics, body, and acidity, Xarel-lo represents the most favorable varietal in the Cava blend.

CorpinnatMarcel’s tireless efforts to differentiate his cavas from the increasing number of Spanish sparkling wine offerings whose grapes — and even finished wines — are purchased from outside the Penedesregion has lead him to develop a new brand alongside a small handful of other like-minded producers called Corpinnat. Corpinnat, (cor=heart, pinna= Penedes, nat= born), a word derived from Latin and Catalán roots to mean born in the heart of Penedes, is arguably the strictest traditional method category in the wine world today.

Marta Rovira Carbonell, fourth daughter of Pere Rovira and Pilar Carbonell, decided in 2004 to return to her roots and began to introduce organic farming methods to the estate. Grandmother Pilar’s former influence is well known within the family, who was an expert in the lunar cycle and was familiar with aromatic and medicinal plants. The next, most natural step for her was to introduce biodynamic farming methods.

Roberto DiFilippo, owner and winemaker of Plani Arche, farms organically but it’s more than a check in the box. To deal with foxes, which were devouring his grapes, he brought some geese on to his property. Counter-intuitively, geese are aggressive, loud and scary, swooping down on something invading their territory. Roberto also uses workhorses to plough his fields and avoid the soil compression that results from 2+ ton tractors, but the sacrifice, for Roberto, has been more than in speed of farming…his leg has been broken not once but TWICE by a horse kick. It tells you how devoted he is to his horses and how close to the action he is. Roberto’s wines have organic certification in Italy but he also follows the more rigorous holistic agricultural teachings of Masanobu Fukuoka

The Cesani Winery is located in the Tuscan hills, in San Gimignano just 20 km from Siena, in one of the most beautiful and fascinating areas of the Tuscany. Together with their father Vincenzo, Sisters Letizia and Maria Luiza oversee all operations related to their family’s winery and agritourism bed and breakfast.

The Cesani family’s story started at the beginning of the 1950s in the splendid Tuscan countryside, just 6 km from San Gimignano. In that difficult period when people preferred to abandon the countryside for a presumably better life in the towns, Cesani, on the contrary, refused that philosophy, deciding to renew faith and hope in that very nature that had given them sustenance up until then. Vincenzo Cesani grew up with this spirit and idea, always looking for new proposalsand methods of work to realize his dream.

He never forgot the importance of respect for nature. He continued to grow only those cultivations typical to the territory, trying at the same time to obtain a final product of very high quality. Many years of loving sacrifice had to pass before seeing any results, but finally they came!

Today the farm, still run by the family, extends over 19 hectares (approx 40 acres) and is cultivated principally with the red Sangiovese grapes and the famous white Vernaccia di San Gimignano. The Cesani family also cultivate and produce certified organic olive oil and saffron.

Colombaia has a 4 hectare vineyard with south west exposure. The soil is calcareous clay full of fossils shells. Dante and Helena Lomazzi work the vineyard as a big garden. The biodynamic method allows them to work with active perception of the vineyards, following the rhythm of nature, helping the vine to reach into the earth and extract the mineral elements of the soil. The activity in the cellar is conducted with full respect for the fruit, minimizing intervention, acting softly and sensitively.

The fermentation is spontaneous with the grape’s natural yeasts, working strictly in respect of the vintage. The extraction process is slow and careful, keeping the vital cycles of fermentation, without clarifying, filtering or stabilizing. Minimal SO2 of no more than 10mg/L is added at bottling.

BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO, TUSCANY

CERTIFICATION: ICEA Certified Organic

There is a story behind the Collelceto estate that makes it quite unlike any other winery in the area. For a start, it’s in an unusual location. When in the early 1900s the Palazzesi family purchased land southwest of Montalcino, the town itself was hardly on the wine map. In those days, anyone who managed to rise above the surrounding rural poverty did so by farming cereal crops and raising livestock. Of course people also made wine, but only for immediate family consumption.

For the agriculture he had in mind, Elia Palazzesi’s great-grandfather had selected a property with soils rich in clay, mixed with some sandy components for good drainage, and a certain amount of a stony substratum. The terrain was 150-180 metres above sea level, gently sloping down towards the Ombrone riverbed, which acted as a conduit for warm winds blowing in from the coast. The wooded hillsides at the back of the farm provided protection from extreme weather conditions.

Nearly a century later, Elia realized that the natural phenomena his great-grandfather had identified as beneficial would also favour viticulture, especially organic grape growing. Back in 1985, his father had planted 2 hectares of vines, and between 1997 and 2000 Elia added five more.

Starting in 2003 in the Teramo subdistrict of Montepulciano d’bruzzo, a new appellation and Abruzzo’s first DOCG was granted: Colline Teramane. At medium altitude and closer to the seaside, a more favorable climate has proven to guarantee distinctly superior tannin maturity. The Nicodemi winery is in the center of this new appellation and with the close collaboration of enologist, Paolo Caciorgna, has established itself as a leader and promoter of highest quality Montepulciano and Trebbiano. Founded by Bruno Nicodemi, the property has now passed into the hands of the second generation and has been revamped by his children, Elena and Alessandro. The typical ‘tendone’ vineyard management prevalent in the area has been abandoned at Nicodemi in favor of the lower yielding ‘cordone’ method of vine training. The full potential of this area, not yet fully explored, will surely find the forefront of revelation in the hands of this ambitious brother and sister team!

Marina Marcarino, owner and winemaker at Punset, was destined for the vineyards since childhood. Exuberant, curious, and hyperactive, Marina spent lots of time with her grandmother who chose to keep her granddaughter engaged through gardening and learning about the outdoors. Marina’s deep bond with the land was strengthened further in 1982, in the course of university studies Marina was struck by organic farming, where she saw a new and authentic way to work with a deep knowledge that stems from the principles of absolute naturalness and a bond of mutual respect. After university, Marina returned home to take over the family vineyards and immediately dove into organic farming. Her first vintage was extremely difficult, and her first crop was completely lost. Despite the setback, Marina pushed forward with a strong determination to persevere in her choices, achieving the first certified organic vineyards in Barbaresco. Now, several decades later, Punset is not only certified organic, but also a practicing biodynamic farm, rooted in the principles of Manasobu Fukuoka and the “agriculture of not doing.” Biodynamic techniques continue in the winery, with spontaneous fermentation, the use of cement tanks for vinification, and compliance with the phases of the moon for each step of work in the cellar.

For three generations, the Tezza family have been dedicated winegrowers. The Valpantena, a valley that lies in a niche between Lake Garda and the arc of the Alps, forms the link between the city of Verona and the Lessina mountains. This location gives the Valpantena a uniquely temperate climate that suits it for plants that are more typical of Mediterranean climates, such as grapevines, olive trees, and cypress. According to the historian Caliari, its name means “Valley of all of the gods,” an explanation accredited by the presence of an underground Roman temple still visible today, the Pantheon di Santa Maria in Stelle. Once fissured by glaciers, the Valpantena today boasts limestone-derived soils, extremely favorable for vine-growing. The production centre of the winery, located in Poiano, comprises the drying loft, and the winemaking and bottling cellar. The Tezza family has committed to organic farming practice; conventional chemical fertilizers, weed killers and anti-parasite products have been replaced by non-invasive natural methods and techniques such as integrated pest management, disruption of the reproductive cycles of parasites and mechanical removal of weeds, with total respect for the environment.

With many harvests under her belt and her passion for winemaking strong, Carol Shelton has become an iconic woman winemaker. One of the first to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Enology from UC Davis, she has never looked back, working her first harvest in 1978 and every harvest since then. In 1981, Carol began working for Rodney Strong and Windsor Vineyards. During her 19-year stint as winemaker at Windsor, Carol had the opportunity to bottle 45 different wines each year, ranging from sparkling wines to port, with Zinfandel coming up as her favorite wine time and time again. It was the unpretentiousness and range of flavors that drew Carol further into the exploration of Zinfandel. This included making various Zinfandels from different growing regions and allowing the terroir to speak through the wine. Then in 2000, at the urging of Carol’s husband Mitch, she decided to start her own winery, acting as President and Winemaker. Many of her vineyard sources are organically grown, dry farmed and decades old. She develops close partnerships with each grower to ensure her wines maintain and express the unique terroir of the vineyard

Lynn Wheeler is the winemaker and owner of Edith and Ida. She is also the longtime partner of Kenny Likitprakong of Hobo Wine Company. Their philosophy is “We believe in unforced wines. We believe in making the best wine possible, but there are lines we are not willing to cross. We believe in minimal processing as a goal, but modern winemaking as an option. Stylistically, we strive for balance above all else, but varietal and geographical distinction are also goals.” From Lynn: “I am proud of the Edith and Ida Chardonnay because it embodies work and love. The vines are organically tended and very old and I find perfectly express all that is delicious in California fruit.”

SANTA LUCIA HIGHLANDS

CERTIFICATION: USDA Organic

In 1982, Dan Morgan Lee and his wife Donna purchased their first grapes and barrels and started Morgan Winery in a small, leased facility. Both kept their “day jobs” for a number ofyears. Morgan earned early acclaim, and over the years became one of the Central Coast’s most recognized labels. After sourcing grapes from other vineyards for 15 years, Dan & Donna invested in their belief in the Santa Lucia Highlands with the purchase of a 65 acre property in 1996. The vineyard was developed and named “Double L” (“Double Luck” in honor of the couple’s twin daughters). In 2001, Double L became the first and only Certified Organic property in the Santa Lucia Highlands, and is now considered one of the best vineyards in the region. The Santa Lucia Highlands is an ideal location for organic winegrowing. The strong winds and temperate climate are natural deterrents to many vineyard pests. Slow, gentle ripening lasts four to five weeks longer than most regions in California, lack of damaging harvest rains extends the crush safely into the fall. The result is fully developed varietal character in every grape.

WILLAMETTE VALLEY

CERTIFICATION: Oregon Department of Agriculture, USDA Organic

The Lumos Wine Company was launched in 2000 by Dai Crisp and his wife and business partner, PK McCoy. In 1990, Dai began professionally growing wine grapes at Croft Vineyards where he developed his own unique, that is to say, earth and people-friendly style of grape growing. This philosophy of using a natural approach with minimal intervention also drives the winemaking. With the help of his dauntless crew, Dai grows all of the fruit that goes into the Lumos wines on three different USDA Certified Organic vineyards. Notably, one of these vineyards – Temperance Hill – is heralded as ‘One of Five Oregon Vineyards Worth Knowing’ according to Wine Enthusiast. Dai also happens to be the vineyard manager of this 100-acre site, a position he’s held since 1999.
