REFLECTIVE JOURNAL
Week 10 (11th- 15thApril 2016)
This week all lessons ran smoothly without interference from other activities. I made I
big mistake which brought me to the success of teaching. People learnt from their
mistakes so do I. I was responsible for what had happen. I learnt many things this week
which were the turning point of my practicum.
I was guided by my supervisor and cooperative teacher at the same time. I
admitted that I had problems with teaching children and classroom control. Thus, I was
guided one by one until I saw the right path and ways of teaching. Pupils enjoyed and
achieved the objectives that I taught based on the lessons discussed.
What I gained from this week experience was I satisfied in every lesson I taught.
I never felt this satisfaction before. I just realied teaching was easy as abc. What I
need to know is pupil!s ability and enjoyment of the lesson. "ased on my lesson this
week, pupils achieved the goals. "esides that, pupils enjoyed the lesson with fun
activities and ja chants. They learned well with actions and chanting. Pupils enjoyed
doing the exercises due to funky design. I created a cartoon designed on my worksheet
to attract the pupils. I did the eye contact during every activities to make sure everyone
followed what I asked.
The weakness was, some pupils still #uite hard to handle. $s I brought the
teaching aids inside the class, pupils played with the teaching aids which have taken
their attention to the lesson. %ome pupils still lost focus and played during the lesson
was conducted. I had being firm by warned the pupils without doing and harm to them. It
was a warning only.
The opportunity that I got was to attract the pupils towards the lesson with the
best set induction. The hangman game attracted the pupils as they need to guess the
words. They chose any letter to form a word. &ther than that, pupils enjoyed learning
through the ja chants. They memorised sentences through the chants. The teaching
aids have brought them into the lesson as well.

The threat was from ' to ( pupils which were teasing their friends. It was the
same pupils who interrupted the lesson. "oth pupils had unlucky family background and
having problem with the learning which is slow learner. They were always on my radar
during the lesson was conducted.
$ll in all, I enjoyed every lesson that I planned with my supervisor and
cooperative teacher as well. It brought me to the new style and well planned teaching. I
learned new ways of approach to teach low level learners. I just want the pupils learn
something from my lesson and remembered as well.
