As you read this message, Karin and I are sailing the blue seas of the Caribbean with my brother

and sisters – a mini family reunion, with lots of relaxation. The cruise doesn’t excite me, but

spending time with my siblings and their significant others is bound to be fun – I can envision

many hands of Euchre. That’s one thing this family likes to do together – play cards.

We all have another family in common – the Tri-Five family and the Redwood Empire Classic Car

Club. We have a great group of people and enjoy lots of activities together – everything from just

shooting the breeze to our fun club outings, all the way to our overnight trips. And speaking of

overnight trips, it is never to early to start planning a big, week-long (or longer) adventure for

2019. Where do you want to go? One thing I do know, I look forward to our adventures together

no matter what we do – just hanging around with the family is great!

See you on the road,

Brad

Vice President Report

May 2018

Vice President Larry Marcom 707.523.2415 [email protected]

Can you believe it? We finally pulled off our March outing after a couple of rain delays. I want to thank all who signed up - we had 22 cars and 42 members along with their guests. That is a strong showing and is very much ap-preciated by yours truly. I hope everyone had a good time and enjoyed the outing.

As Yogi Berra would say, "It looks like April is going to be Deja vu all over again". The April outing WAS scheduled for Saturday the 7th, but forecast heavy rains forced me to move the outing date to April 28th. I hope this has not been too much of an inconvenience for our members.

With the warmer weather around the corner we are beginning to see more car events popping up, The Apple Blos-som Parade will have come and gone by the time you read this, then there is our big club event, Fred's Old Car Day, along with Driven to Perfection in Sebastopol on May 26th, and numerous other car events.

Brad and Karin will be on vacation for the May RECCC meeting at Round Table Pizza, so I will be serving as President for that meeting. I have instructed our Sergeant at Arms to check everyone coming through the door for rotten to-matoes and cabbage......

April Outing on April 28th -

We will meet BEHIND the Raley's shopping center at 9:00 am for a 9:30 departure. Raley's is located at the intersec-tion of Fulton and Guerneville Roads and has restrooms and a Peet's coffee inside the store. There is also a Star-buck’s in the shopping center. Of course, donuts will be provided for all who signed up.......

Our route of flight will take us out Mark West Springs and Franz Valley School roads to Calistoga. We will proceed a few miles south of Calistoga to the Bale Grist Mill for a tour. The tour charge is $5.00, but it is an informative and interesting tour. After that we head south to St. Helena to Taylor's Refresher (now named Gott's Roadside Tray Gourmet). From there we head east and climb up to Angwin and Pope Valley for a visit to the Hubcap Ranch and a stop at the Pope Garage to look at their memorabilia and bucket of snakes? I don't make this stuff up.........

Remember, we need to bring a hubcap in just about any condition to donate to the Ranch. Maybe we can get our 15 minutes of fame and have our (RECCC) special place on the fence....

That’s about it for now. See you on the 28th.

Happy vapor trails,

Larry Marcom
