Tuesday, October 23 “Don’t let drugs hunt you down.” Travel to the Safari and wear your Camo gear! Wednesday, October 24 “Owls give drugs the boot!” Travel to the Old West and wear western clothes and hats. Thursday, October 25 “Drugs are old school!” Travel to the 50’s and wear 50’s costumes. Friday, October 26 “Peace and hugs instead of drugs.” Travel to the 70’s and wear tie dye Monday, October 30 “We are tu-tu cool for drugs.” Travel to the 80’s and wear tutu’s and 80’s gear. Tuesday, October 30 “Look to the future and stay drug free.” Travel to the future and wear your college shirt. Wednesday, October 31 “Use good character, stay drug free.” Travel through the pages of a good book and dress like your favorite storybook character. The Red Ribbon Campaign® is now the oldest and largest drug prevention program in the nation, reaching millions of young people during Red Ribbon Week®. WHAT IS RED RIBBON WEEK? It is an ideal way for people and communities to unite and take a visible stand against drugs. Show your personal commitment to a drug-free lifestyle through the symbol of the Red Ribbon. WHY? The Red Ribbon Campaign® was started when drug traffickers in Mexico City murdered DEA agent Kiki Camarena in 1985. This began the continuing tradition of displaying Red Ribbons as a symbol of intolerance towards the use of drugs.
