Cibolo Green Elementary Red Ribbon Week Festivities ~ October 26 - 30, 2015 “Respect Yourself ~ Be Drug Free” National Red Ribbon Week is the oldest and largest drug prevention campaign in the country, reaching millions of young people and educating them on a healthy lifestyle, free from drugs, alcohol, violence and preventable diseases. Red Ribbon Week commemorates the ultimate sacrifice made by DEA Special Agent Enrique "Kiki" Camarena, who died at the hands of drug traffickers in Mexico while fighting the battle against illegal drugs to keep our country and children safe. During Red Ribbon Week, communities and individuals come together to focus on ways we can help our children through developing a personal commitment to live drug free lives with the ultimate goal being the creation of a drug-free America. Monday, Oct. 26th - "Team Up Against Drugs!" Champions will wear sports team t-shirts/jerseys in honor of Red Ribbon Week! Tuesday, Oct. 27th - "I’m a “Jean-ius” ~ Give Drugs the Boot!” Champions will wear boots, jeans and western wear in honor being Drug Free! Wednesday, Oct. 28th - "We’re Too Bright for Drugs!” Champions will wear neon colors and shades in honor of Red Ribbon Week! Thursday, Oct. 29th - "Don’t get Mixed Up in Drugs!” Champions will wear mis-matched clothes to school in honor of being Drug Free! Friday, Oct. 30th– “Drugs are Scary ~ Dress Up Against Drugs!” Champions will dress up in honor of Red Ribbon Week. No Face Paint, No Masks or ANYTHING on face.
