ANY VIDEO MODALITY Convert any medical modality to DICOM and send to PACS, record to CD/DVD/USB network and print.

Static and streaming video capture

TIMS captures both still and motion video images. This includes motion video capture at up to 60 frames per second. Most other systems are limited to the capture of only static images. Some systems that claim motion capture can only really capture for just a few seconds. TIMS can capture the entire study, up to several minutes of video. Further, many systems are unable to capture non-standard video signals such as fluoroscopy and endoscopy.

DICOM and Image Storage via CD/DVD/USB

TIMS 2000 can record any study or studies to CD, DVD, a USB device, or a network destination. Multiple studies can be burned to a disk at one time for archiving purposes. This DICOM image storage to CD/DVD/USB is built right into the TIMS DICOM System. A DICOM viewer is also included and can be burned along with the patient study. Many other DICOM conversion solutions do not include writable drives and therefore charge quite a bit more for this feature.

Studies can also be sent to any destination via a hospital network. Most modality vendor destination charges can be quite prohibitive. With one TIMS, you can connect any modality to multiple destinations at no extra charge.

BENEFIT

With this recording capability, TIMS allows hospitals to easily backup patient studies to removable media as well as provide a copy of the study to the patient right at the point of care. TIMS networking capability eliminates modality destination charges. TIMS CD/DVD burner enables hospitals to share patient studies in DICOM format to referring clinicians.

The PACS Connectivity Solution

The TIMS 2000 recording solution has been designed to simplify the video capture and archiving of any medical imaging modality. It will work in conjunction with your footswitch operation of your fluoroscope. With TIMS you have full control over what you send to your PACS archiving system. We give you the ability to view your acquired images in full HD (high definition) and edit out any extraneous images or streams that you do not want to archive.

With over 3000 systems installed worldwide, TIMS Medical has worked extensively with radiologists and speech pathologists to optimise workflow to make their recording, review, and analysis of modified barium swallow (MBS) studies more efficient. The result is customisable workflows from the extremely simple to the power user, and everything in between!

For example, for the simplest workflow:

(1) Input the patient information by a simple query of the DMWL from your RIS.

(2) Record the entire speech study with synced audio automatically (with no interaction necessary with TIMS) from the fluoroscopy system.

(3) Send the resulting DICOM study (with one click!) to PACS and/or a TDRS system in the speech pathology lab or office. For power users, extensive functions are available on both the TIMS recording system in the fluoroscopy room, and on the TDRS remote review system:

TIMS DICOM REVIEW SOFTWARE (TDRS)

TDRS is a software-only version of the TIMS system (no video acquisition hardware). TDRS can be installed on any Windows 7 computer in the clinicians consulting rooms or anywhere in the hospital. For example to speed up workflow and immediately free up the fluoroscopy suite for the next patient. The speech study can be instantly sent over the hospital network from the TIMS system in the fluoroscopy suite to one or more TDRS systems throughout the hospital. Speech pathologists can then edit, annotate, review, and analyse the studies, free from the pressure of creating a bottleneck in the fluoroscopy suite, in the comfort of their own office.

TIMS is the only system that allows the user to review and edit studies prior to sending them to PACS or recording to CD/DVD.

Capture entire study TIMS can acquire for long periods of time, enabling the capture of the entire study, even for long studies like those in motion X-ray, speech pathology, interventional radiology, cardiology, and echo. Other solutions can only acquire for up to 10 seconds, seriously limiting their usability in many hospital environments.

Study annotation TIMS provides a couple of ways to annotate a study: Study comments can be added using the Study Description or Series Description fields. These comments are displayed in the status bar of the TIMS window and included in the DICOM file that is sent to PACS or recorded to CD/DVD. With Series Description, a set of pre-defined list of Series Descriptions can be set up to choose from. That way, users can choose frequently used Series Descriptions easily rather than typing them in each time.

FLUOROSCOPY CASE STUDY FOR RADIOLOGY AND PACS ADMINISTRATION

Problem: The University of Michigan Hospital (Ann Arbor, MI) has three fluoroscopy systems: a Philips Diagnost, a Philips EasyView, and a GE Advantx. They are used for general fluoroscopy as well as speech pathology studies. All three systems are non-DICOM and the hospital wanted to go completely digital and view these studies on PACS rather than continuing to print film and record to video tape. How could they cost effectively convert these fluoroscopy systems to DICOM until they are ready to replace these systems in a few years?

Solution: TIMS DICOM System. The University of Michigan Hospital had already been using a TIMS DICOM System for all of their long format speech pathology studies with their new Siemens Luminos fluoroscopy system. With this positive experience using TIMS for speech pathology studies, they decided to convert all of their non-DICOM fluoroscopy systems to DICOM using the TIMS DICOM System. Now, all of their fluoroscopy systems are connected to PACS, and at a small fraction of the cost of replacing these systems. Additionally, with the cost savings associated with digital workflow gains, the elimination of film printing, and the elimination of video tape recording, the University realized its return on investment in TIMS in just a few months. “The TIMS DICOM System improved our workflow immediately. The staff at Foresight Imaging quickly and easily installed the equipment and trained our staff. We are very pleased with their support of our staff,” said James Good, PACS Administrator at University of Michigan Hospital.

TIMS also allows you to query the PACS system for previous patient studies and retrieve them for display right on the TIMS DICOM System. This is especially helpful for reviewing the studies just before starting a new procedure. Other non-DICOM to DICOM conversion products do not offer DICOM query/retrieve.

Convert and non-DICOM modality to DICOM

Yes, we mean any modality. CT, MR, nuclear medicine, motion X-ray, endoscopy, white light microscopy, angiography, ultrasound, and much more. Our software automatically analyses the video signal from the modality and calibrates exactly to the video specifications of the modality. This guarantees the very best image quality possible.

TIMS Advantage in Medical Imaging Solutions

The TIMS DICOM System is the premier solution for converting any non-DICOM medical modality to DICOM. TIMS medical imaging solutions save hospitals hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars by helping them extend the lives of their current medical devices. There is no need to immediately purchase expensive new equipment or DICOM upgrades from the major medical modality manufacturers. SUMMARY: TIMS - The PACS Connectivity solution

TIMS can make the DICOM conversion and send your studies to PACS cost-effectively.

• TIMS allows immediate review of the study to confirm correct patient positioning and the relevant swallow section was recorded. This avoids time wasting awaiting the study to load and possible excess radiation given to the patient in opting to re-do the fluoroscopy study with that specific medium if there is ambiguity whether the relevant data was recorded.

• TIMS allows MBS studies to be integrated into PACS, and owing to the editing software only the clinically relevant images or short runs would be included, as opposed to the entire study. This means significantly less storage space on PACS would be required for speech pathology MBS studies moving forward.

• This system allows clinicians to export JPEG and AVI files to imbed MBS studies into PowerPoint presentations for training and conference presentations.

• The review station ability of TIMS means a more effective workflow of patients through a fluoroscopy suite as the annotations, labelling, review and editing of the patients MBS study can be conducted out of the fluoroscopy suite and in the speech pathology department, freeing up radiographers time and the suite to address more patients.

• The TIMS system allows the radiographer more time as radiographer labelling will not be necessary.

• The TIMS system can be used to burn a patient study onto DVD including TIMS review software for the referring external clinician. This opens up the radiology & speech pathology MBS service to potentially include rural and regional surrounding areas.

• The TIMS system will give the department an ability to conduct training of student speech pathologists in MBS diagnosis, with graphic telestration and ability to review studies in high definition. Current imaging modalities and capabilities render this impossible.

• The diagnostic value to having synchronised audio, and the capacity to pass on clinically relevant audio notes to speech pathology colleagues would save time and ensure clinical symptoms are not missed.

• TIMS integrates to all PACS systems and RIS worklists within radiology to integrate within the existing hospital IT systems.

• TIMS records studies at full high definition. By recording to DVD we only record a quarter of the data leaving us at risk of missing vital clinically relevant data which add considerable medical risk to potential misdiagnosis during review.

REVIEW AND EDIT TIMS allows you to review and edit your studies before sending to PACS. Other medical imaging solutions force you to send to PACS blindly. TIMS allows you to see, review, and edit what you have captured so that you can make decisions prior to sending to PACS, reducing PACS storage needs.
