Reagents for histological techniques, haematology and microbiology
Panreac has a full range of products for histology, haematology and microbiology, which includes the most commonly used reagents in the process of preparing samples for examination under the microscope. With this range, all the stages of fixing, rinsing, paraffin inclusion, staining and mounting are covered.
The majority of the products used in this technique are encompassed in the DC, or Clinical Diagnosis, quality, with the CE mark in compliance with the provisions of the European Directive on products for “in vitro” diagnosis.
Fixing: The range includes the majority of reagents used for this purpose, starting with the classic buffered formaldehyde, in a wide range of packaging formats, used in the normal way. Other fixing agents are also available for specific applications, such as Carnoy, Zenker or Bouin Fixing Agents, all of which are manufactured with the most widely accepted formulas.
We have recently included a formaldehyde surrogate, Histofix®, which substitutes for formaldehyde in its applications as a fixing agent, and is much less toxic, making it easier to handle and use.
As manufacturers, we are in a position to custom-produce fixing reagents with specific formulations for special applications.
Drying and Rinsing: The range of solvents for the drying stage includes different types of alcohols, chiefly ethanol, in different, ready-to-use concentrations, including a specific drying agent for pathological anatomy, VITROSEC® , and other solvents used for this purpose. All are specially purified and subjected to stringent quality control, to prevent the presence of particles that could cause artefacts in the preparation of tissues.
Reagents for histological techniques,
haematology and microbiology
The range of rinsing agents includes the classics: Xylene, Citrosol, and other solvents, together
with the new Isoparaffin H, a Xylene surrogate, non-aromatic, practically odourless, and
much less toxic than Xylene.
Inclusion: Paraffin inclusion is widely covered with paraffins with different melting
points, including the popular Paraplast®. This complete range of paraffins meets the
vast majority of needs in this field.
Staining: The most commonly used stains are available in ready-to-use solutions,
complemented by over 60 powdered dyes for preparation of any kind of stain with maximum
flexibility.
All the dyes are subjected to stringent quality control, to ensure maximum reproducibility in the preparation of the stains,
preventing colour differences between different preparations. This is particularly important for prepared solutions, where the
concentrations of dye or pH are specifically controlled, in order to ensure maximum contrast and homogeneous colour brightness
lot after lot, with special emphasis on the different available formulations of hematoxylin-eosin in Papanicolau dyes for
cytological studies.
The range includes different kits: Gram staining in microbiology, fast staining in haematology, and the kit for staining Reticulin
fibres.
Mounting: A wide range is available, from classic mounting media, Canada balsam and DPX, to the latest Mounting Medium
for Xylene Surrogates, indicated for use in conjunction with Isoparaffin H. All of them with one purpose: To ensure perfect
preservation of the preparations over time.
All in all, Panreac offers you a complete range of products for pathological anatomy, with the maximum guarantee to ensure
safe, reliable results in the histo-pathological process, thanks to the top quality and stringency of products designed specifically for
this purpose.

Laboratory glassware cleaning agents
DERQUIM products have been specially made for cleaning the laboratory equipment. They can be used in the manual cleaning (series LM) or for washing using automatic machines (series LA).
The various formulations are specifically adapted to any kind of laboratory residue: chemical, biological or clinical.
Two products with disinfecting and bactericidal properties are included in our DERQUIM program. DERQUIM DSF 01 is used for hand disinfecting and DERQUIM DSF 11 is used for surfaces and instruments disinfecting.
