Your generosity allows the Movement to carry on their work for another year. Thank-you to those parishioners who were able to attend the Chrism Mass recently in the Cathedral—it was great to see you there! As we move into the Easter Season, we have the special Feast of Divine Mercy next Sunday. This feast was instituted by the Church in the Jubilee Year 2000, and came about from the request of Our Lord to Saint Faustina, and the promises He made for those who come to His Mercy. Please see the insert in today’s bulletin for more information. At the end of all Masses next weekend we will say the prayers to gain the special plenary indulgence for this feast day: the Lord’s Prayer, the Apostles Creed, and a Hail Mary for Pope Francis, and the invocation, “Jesus, I trust in you.” If you haven’t had the chance to make your yearly confession yet, don’t miss out on this great opportunity to receive the plenary indulgence attached to the Feast: namely, that if we will go to Confession, receive Holy Communion and say the above named prayers we can obtain the complete forgiveness of all sins and of all the punishment due to those sins. The Church allows us to go to Confession twenty days either side of the Feast day to gain the indulgence. The feast also encourages us to practice works of mercy and charity, especially by going out and seeking the lost, perhaps fallen-away Catholics, and inviting them to come home. Jesus wants us to call others to come to Him so that He can heal and strengthen them. What better act of mercy could there be than to help another to gain eternal life? To allow extra time for Confessions next Sunday, we will have a Holy Hour from 3:00pm in Mary Immaculate Church, with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, the Divine Mercy Chaplet, the Rosary, and concluding with Benediction at 4:00pm. Confessions will be available during this time. This Wednesday Father Paul and myself will move from 42 Ferndale Street into what will be known as the Oratory House at 16 Ferndale Street. Our current phone number is meant to be transferring, but should it not work temporarily, you can get us on our mobile numbers. 42 Ferndale Street is a house that our parish once owned but sold to the Archdiocese some years ago. During 2014 and up until now we have been renting it from the Archdiocese, with the rental being completely offset by the fact that we have been renting out the former presbytery at 63 Effingham Street. Father Andrew Wise, one of the other priests of the Brisbane Oratory in Formation, will be arriving in Annerley in the coming weeks. Up until now he has been the Dean of the Cathedral in the Diocese of Sale. Once here, Father Andrew will take his annual leave. He will begin duties in the parish about mid-May. From the Parish Priest The Little King’s Movement for the Handicapped

has written to thank our parishioners for the amount of $983.15 that was generously given to the Movement in the recent appeal. Your generosity allows the

Movement to carry on their work for another year.

We are looking for a group within the parish to co-ordinate this year’s Devonshire Tea Stall at St

Elizabeth’s School Fete. Cakes, scones, tea and coffee will all be sold from our school tuckshop, as per last

year. All profits from the stall go directly to our parish. This is a fabulous way to bring our school and

parish communities together.

Please contact Renae McBrien for further details on 0423 322 889 or email [email protected].

Advance notice is hereby given that the Parish Office will be closed from Monday 27th April until Friday 8th May inclusive. Things may be handed in to the priests at Mass times, and we are available

via email, and on our mobile phones at all times for urgent matters.

On Tuesday we will give $50 to the next lucky winner in the parish art union. Good luck to all ticket-holders! Tickets in the art

union can be purchased until just before the final draw in November.

I extend a very big thank-you to Father Paul for co-ordinating the special liturgies for the Sacred Triduum and to all who have assisted

in any way, especially the members of the Parish Liturgy Team,

sacristans, florists, choir members, organists and musicians, church cleaners, and, of course, the parish staff. Everything goes well when everyone does their bit, so thank-you everyone for a great effort. We pray that the celebration of the Liturgy will lead hearts to

Christ.

Together with Father Paul and all the parish staff, I wish all of you a very happy and blessed Easter and all the graces of this wonderful feast of our salvation.
