In this slide presentation, you will find some reading simulations that are designed to illustrate some points about the nature of reading.

Instructions: Read each simulation. Do not be surprised if you have to go back

and re-read some parts. Jot down what you learned from each

simulation.

I cdnuolt blbeiee that I cluod aulaclty uesdnatnrd what I was rdgnieg THE PAOMNNEHAL PWEOR OF THE HMUAN MNID Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch sutdy at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn’t mttaer in what oredt the ltteers in a word are, the only iprmoatnt thing is that the frist and lsat ltteer be in the rghit pclae. The rset can be a taotl mses and you can still raed it wouthit porbelm. This is bcuseae the human mind deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the word as a wlohe. Amzanig huh?

So much for all the spelling tests we ever had…

The boys’ arrows were nearly gone so they sat down on the grass and stopped hunting. Over at the edge of the wood they saw Henry making a bow to a small girl who was coming down the road. She has tears in her dress and tears in her eyes. She gave Henry a note, which he brought to the group of young hunters. Read to the boys, it caused great excitement. After a minute, but rapid examination of their weapons, they ran down to the valley. Does were standing on the edge of the lake, making an excellent target.
