Reading PicturesReading pictures accurately is an important skill for pupils to develop. It helps them to interpret images and correct their assumptions on the basis of new information.

In this activity an image/object of interest is gradually revealed. (keeping the most interesting features to the end.

The activity encourages pupils to focus in on detail, to look for contextual clues, to use their prior learning and connect ideas in order to ‘guess’ what the picture is about.

Reading Pictures• Select a picture of particular interest for example

interior of place of worship, a deity, act of worship, religious ceremony etc (the more unusual the picture the better).

• You will need to insert the graphic onto the slide with the squares and send it to the back.

• The squares are set to fade out in a particular order. However you can change the order by using Custom animation. Use the appropriate buttons to re-order them
