The artistic director Indrani Parthasarathy, is well versed in Pandanallur & Kalakshetra style of dancing. She is also well versed in Kuchipudi and classical music. Anupama Nagasimha, a senior student of the Abhinaya School, is a teacher & teaches technique classes. This year’s performance took place at Berry Center in Cypress on 2nd April 2016. The first part of the show Natyarpanam showcased performances by beginner, junior, intermediate and se- nior students. Beginner students showed glimpses of their basic training while the junior, senior, intermedi- ate and senior students performed Pushpanjali, Alaripu, Jathiswaram, Padam & Bhajans. The second part consisted of two thematic creative pre- sentations performed by seniors and advanced students. Krishna Bhakthi took the audience on a journey along the banks of River Yamuna to experience Krishna through the eyes of Mother Yashoda and the Gopis. Shivaya show- cased dance - salutations to the dancing God Nataraja, Goddess Meenakshi, Gods Ganesha and Karthikeya. A special feature of the event was the Shiva Panchakshara stotram performed by the two teachers. The parent volunteers did a spectacular job of ensuring the program was professional and smooth flowing. The thunderous applause at the end of every dance clearly demonstrated the quality of the performance and the dedication of the students.
