Random Acts of Youth On Sun‐ day, January 31 four intrepid members of the youth group displayed their enor ‐ mous talents at being dra‐ matic at Mt. Paul United Church. Sadie Keim, Frasier Griffiths, Sean Walker and Maia Walker did an amazing job of being involved in the service. Greeting, reading scripture, acting in the drama, helping with song actions, collecting offering and serving specialty coffees after service were all done by these youth during this busy Sunday Service There were many compliments after service and all were well deserved. Special thanks to Mt. Paul congrega‐ tion who welcomed us so warmly and donated gener ‐ ously at coffee time helping the youth raise $117.00! Thanks to Rev. LeAnne Black‐ ert for asking us to come and supporting us! Extra special Thanks to Mt. Paul youth Dion and Brittany for greeting—we hope to see you at youth group some day! Photovoice is used as a way to have those who are marginal‐ ized in community to share a story, their viewpoint, or a message about how they see the world, in a powerful way. Using image youth have an opportunity to share how they see God’s love in our world. This project will also offer a gift to the church community when we share the images for Febru‐ ary 14th—a day we celebrate love in our society. We need more images ,so youth, get out the camera and find God’s love in our world. Send any photos to Michele at [email protected] please include what makes you think the image looks like God’s love. God’s love is good friends who love you., a place to be yourself, a commu‐ nity who accepts you, a place you can show God’s love to others. A picture says a thousand words right? In December we started working on col‐ lecting images of what the youth thought God’s love looks like using Photo‐ voice. God Love is trees that are homes for creatures, a place to pray, a majestic part of nature.

families! February 12th just
happens to
be
the
opening
night of the Olympic Games
so we are going to do some
Olympic activities and if it is
technically possible we will
have
the
ceremonies
broad‐
cast!
A night for families is on the
second Friday of each month
for parents and caregivers
with children of all ages. It’s
a time to give you a break
from the everyday by provid‐
ing a meal, coffee and des‐
sert, activities for the kids and
time for adults to do… well,
whatever! All you need to
bring is you! Come for all the
night or part of it—we would
love to see you!

Kamloops Okanagan Presbytery
youth retreat .This years retreat is
March 26‐28th at Trinity United
Church in Vernon. This retreat is
open to
youth
12
years
old
(grade
7) and up and is a blast. If you are

We are trying to arrange a Ski Day
at Sun Peaks for March 6th. This
will be a day that youth (and par ‐
ents and other family are welcome
to join us.) can hang out together
doing a variety of activities. There
will be skiing or boarding for those
interested and options for skating ,
swimming, tubing, and board
games for those who don’t want to
ski or board! Stay tuned for more
information and mark the date on
your calendar!

room and head to the Y at 7pm ‐ pick up is at the Y lobby at 8:30
This is the United Churches Youth Group for youth in grades 5-8.
Most events take place at Kamloops United Church in the youth room (it’s in the basement) from 6:30 – 8:00pm.
Snack and fun, silly and possibly wacky times will be provided! Everyone is welcome to come!
