Potentate’s MessageIllustrious Sir Bryan W. Lawson, Potentate

Time passes very quickly when one is busy and it is hard to believe that by thetime we arrive at the Spring Ceremonial in Collingwood that almost half ofmy year as Potentate has already passed.

During the past couple of months I have had the honour of attending a numberof Shrine functions to represent Rameses Shriners. There were a couple offunctions in Florida to honour the Canadian Shriners put on by Araba Temple, andanother by the Harnando Shrine Club of Egypt Temple. These were very wellorganized events arranged by Noble Russ Dean and Noble Bob Whiteford bothmembers of Rameses Shriners and both are Temple Ambassadors. As you can see,Rameses is well represented at both of these Temples.

A special event that I was able to attend as a guest was the Silver Plaquepresentation at the Shriners Hospital for Children in Montreal. The High Priestessand members of Bokhara Court No. 22, including Lady Ingrid and accompanied bytheir Grand High Priestess had gathered for this special presentation. This was tomark the very large donation which had been presented by their Court.

There has also been a number of Potentate’s Balls which I have attended, eachwith its own special memories. In addition to the traveling outside of the Ramesesjurisdiction, there have been a large number of visits to our Clubs for manydifferent events.

This year’s Potentate’s Ball was a great success. This is to be credited to ourChief Rabban, Noble Jim McKinney and his Lady Linda who organized the event. The meal, music, and the complete program were all first class. It also could nothave been so successful without the help of all the members of the Elected andAppointed Divan who worked so hard to see that everything was just right. Lastly,Lady Ingrid and I would also thank all the Nobles and their Ladies for attendingand making this a special night that we will always remember.

The Petro-Canada Project is now over and unfortunately we did not succeed inproving to Petro-Canada it should continue for the 5 additional years. For manyreasons I am sure, the cards were not used, and we fell very short of the requirednumber of litres to continue the program. The project ended on the last day ofApril and sadly instead of the possible large financial returns to the Shriners acrossCanada, it will hardly cover the expenses of producing the cards and promotingthe program. However the good news is your Divan is looking into otherfundraisers which could be adopted latter this year.

This year, the Potentate’s trip will be to Portugal from October 22 to November1. This should be a great trip to many historic sites and the weather in Portugal atthat time of year is supposed to be just about perfect. There will be a second trippresentation at 3100 Keele Street on June 27th at 1 p.m. I would encourageanyone who is interested to attend. Please refer to the Papyrus for all the detailsor call the Shrine Office to have a brochure mailed to you. Anyone who is planningto go should book right away as there is a limited number of seats available and itwill be first come first served.

Best wishes for safe and happy travels, and remember, Shriners do it Best.

BY BOB MCGREGOR, P.P. - Recorder

Recorder’s Message

It’s mid April as I write and this coming weekend is a specialone. It’s the Potentate’s Ball which gives us all a chance toshow support for the current Illustrious Sir. Looking back on

my 45 years as a Shriner, I have only missed one Potentate’sBall, not all together a bad record.

We are putting the final touches on the paper work for theSpring Ceremonial in Collingwood and I do believe the ManitoShrine Club is going all out to make this a great Ceremonial andfrankly Nobles, it deserves your support. I look forward to beingwith you all on this occasion and if we all put out our besteffort, it will be a happy memory for all of us for years to come.

The Imperial Session for 2010 will see the third installationof a Rameses Potentate to the high position of ImperialPotentate for the Shrine of North America. The first was NobleHarry A. Collins in 1905 and for the record Illustrious Sir BobWhitmarsh has his Past Potentate’s jewel. The second RamesesNoble to hold this position was M.E. Mackenzie from 1933-1935and now Noble George Mitchell. Yes, we did have two otherImperial Sessions in Toronto but they were not Rameses Nobles. In 1975 Noble Jack Streight from Gizeh Temple held his ImperialSession in Toronto and it was held again in 1989 by a Nobleagain from the west.

We all need to get behind Illustrious Sir Barry McQuillin onthis one. It’s not a secret that he has several problems toresolve. The balanced dollar is not helping from the visitor’spoint of view and the current need for United States Nobles tohave a passport is not helping either, so Nobles it’s up to us topick up the slack. Let’s show Illustrious Sir Barry that weappreciate his effort by putting 2,000 Rameses Nobles in theparade, complete with the four national flags. In short, let’smake this a gold medal performance.

In the March issue of Papyrus, I requested the Nobles, Ladiesand fellow travelers who had signed up for the 2008 trip toSpain and had not seen fit to seek restitution to contact me sothat we could now compensate them for their loss. I’m happyto say that I have been in touch with most of them and yourDivan has refunded 100 percent of their loss which was ofcourse our intention from day one. Regrettably we had to putthis on hold while the case was before the court but thankfullythat is behind us now and we are in a position to respond.

Be assured that if any one of you should give considerationto a future Potentate’s Trip and we hope you will, we nowfollow the rules and regulations to the letter and our futurePotentates will not sign on unless your money is held in trust orcovered by T.I.C.O.

Regarding the Imperial Session here in Toronto this July, it’sopen to all Shriners and if you have the opportunity, feel free todrop in and listen to the verbiage both pro and con. As I havepointed out to you before, this is the time when we vote on allthe issues listed in General Order No. 2. Many of the items wevote on are from both the Iowa and the Colorado Corporations

and as a reminder, the Iowa Corp applies to us as Shriners andthe Colorado Corp is all about the children in our care and ofcourse the hospitals.

Each Temple has either 4 or 5 representatives (we inRameses have 5) and it is their responsibility to vote on a hostof issues that affect us as Shriners. Some of the issues arechanges to bylaws, opening or closing our hospitals andchanges to our operating manual. Now you can sit in on all ofthis if you wish and it certainly is an educational experience. There are one or two items you should not miss and that is thepageantry for the new Imperial Officer especially this yearbecause you are paying for it and of course it’s our Georgethat’s taking over.

Another item not to miss is the public installation andhospital presentation. This is the part that recharges all of usbecause the work that we do for the children is showcased andI guarantee there won’t be a dry eye in the auditorium when it’sfinished. Nobles and Ladies, I strongly recommend you attendand be early because almost always seats are at a premiumespecially if you want to sit as a group. Be assured this is abusy time for your Divan. We start early in the morning and goat it all day.

Nobles, I regret to report that the current Petro-CanadaProject is cancelled as of April 30th, 2010 and in spite of all thehard work we put into this, we lost money. Not a fortune but aloss none the less. Let me say that some Nobles and one ortwo of our Clubs gave it a good shot but the thousands ofShriners across Canada by and large did not use the cards andthe support was only around 2 percent of the potential. Thiswas, or could have been, one of the best fundraisers to comeour way in recent years but apathy took over and it’s dead.

We are currently entering into another Petro-CanadaFundraiser but on a much smaller scale. We will receive only2,500 cards from Petro-Canada at no cost to us. We willattempt to sell these cards to anyone who will buy them for$20. You will get a 5 cent discount per litre on your gaspurchase so that after you have purchased approximately 400litres of gas, you will have your $20 back. Noble High Priest &Prophet Terry Lamping will be chairing this fundraiser and I’msure he will provide you with the final details as they becomeavailable. In any event Nobles, we hope you will support thisproject.

The “Do Not Call” legislation is starting to hurt us and againthis year we are anticipating a shortfall on our Circus, Fantasy,Football and Direct Appeal fundraisers. The number put on thetable was a drop of 20-25 percent however we can reduce thiswith changes to our modus operandi and I do believe we willgo this route.

I can’t finish this message without a plug for membership. It’s just so important. Remember what I said before. Every oneof us has 365 days just to get one Candidate, that can’t be toohard. I’ve got one already for this year and if I can do it, so canyou. Remember the ten most powerful two letter words in theEnglish language. It-Is-Up-To-Me-If-It-Is-To-Be.

Thank you all for your support of Rameses projects but mostof all thank you for just being Shriners.

Treasurer’s Report

Nobles, we have just arrived home from the Potentate’sBall, congratulations to Noble Jim McKinney and hisworkers for a great weekend.

My garden is beginning to renew itself, the flowers arebudding, some even blooming and the seedlings are sprouting.

Now is the time to think about replacing ourselves andbring in new Candidates so that our membership grows.

All Nobles should make at least one trip to one of ourhospitals so you can see what special work goes into runningthem and how happy the children are that are receivingtreatment in them. This gives you, the Noble, a chance to seeand then be able to encourage new Candidates with first handknowledge of what you have learned.

What a privilege to be able to work for such special children.Best wishes to our ill and shut-ins, get well soon.

It is that time of year when we once again enjoy the warmerweather. The beauty of nature, all around us, is breaking outin bloom.Looking at the calendar we find schedules just seem to be

busier than ever with engagements that require our presence.Very shortly we will be sharing the activities of our SpringCeremonial and right after that comes the Imperial Sessions.

Looking to our gardens we have the pleasure of the earlyspring flowers blooming in all their glory. On a visit to Holland afew years ago we enjoyed viewing acres and acres of tulips infull bloom. In the midst of this beauty, however, the gardenerswere picking of the flowers and just disposing of them to a

compost area. Knowing the flowers were shipped out all overthe world I wondered why so many were simply cut off and justallowed to decay. Then getting up courage to ask, we were toldthey were being grown for the development of the bulbs whichwere exported and not for the flowers.

The beauty of those flowers is to be found all around ourown country as they bring brightness to our gardens in thespring. The work involved is demanding but the result is the joyin the beauty they bring to us. One cannot help but think of thesimilarity there is in the cause of the Shrine and the joy that isbrought to our Shrine Kids through the devoted efforts of theShriners. As we look to our Ceremonial and Imperial Session’sactivities keep in mind that we are saying to all who watch andhear of these activities that it is for the benefit of our ShrineKids.

Our theme for the year is true: “SHRINERS DO IT BEST”.

In our great fraternities, both The Masonic Order and theShrine are all concerned with our membership and thedeclining numbers due in large part to the changing society

in which we live.I believe we are entering into a new era as the population

seems to be seeking something else besides work and routine.Perhaps we can fill the gaps that some men feel in their daily

lives. It is also important to remember most men I know go to

their Lodges and their Shrine Temples and Clubs for fellowship, relaxation and fun.

However if that “harmony of purpose “ is disturbed bypettiness or arguments by even a small minority within these“Units” then after a while we see the demits, suspensions and

lack of attendance begin to increase.Perhaps some of us may wish to re-examine the reasons they

became Masons and Shriners. My thoughts go back to the night I was made a Mason. The impressive ceremony that we all have experienced was

highlighted particularly by the Apron Charge to preserve theharmony of the Lodge. Perhaps we should all keep this in mindeverywhere.

Later in my obligation, as a Master Mason, when I promisedto uphold a M.M. honour as my own etc. I was proud to be partof the Masonic Fraternity.

Of course, being a man longer than a Mason it is sometimesdifficult! There have been times over the past many years that Ihad to check myself and resort to the suggestions in the ApronCharge.

So maybe if we are having a bad day, we might be better offto stay home rather than go to our Lodge or Shrine Club anddisturb the harmony and brotherhood we all enjoy.

Nobles, it is really just the first Golden Rule “Do unto othersas you would have them do unto you”.

Respect and courtesy is in our “aims and objects”. Thoughnot specifically written but expected and deserved by all.

Nobles, now that the warm weather is upon us, it’s time tostart thinking about our summer projects and fundraisers.Remember Nobles, the Circuses begin in June and run

until August. Rameses needs your support and manpower. I’lllook forward to meeting you, the Nobility, at the shows.

On April 17th, we honoured our Potentate Ill. Sir Bryan W.Lawson and Lady Ingrid at their ball.

Chief Rabban, Noble Jim McKinney and his committee did anexcellent job. A truly classy evening with great music, food andfriendship. Fourteen visiting Potentates from Canada and NewYork State Temples added to a great evening.

On my return from Assistant Rabban Session, I had thechance to visit the Shriners Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.Community relations and registered nurse Wanda Rice gave mean in-depth tour of the facility.

Lexington is a 50-bed hospital, specializing in providing one-of-a-kind pediatric specialty care to kids with orthopaedicconditions. Opened in 1926, the hospital helps kids fromKentucky and surrounding states defy the odds every day.

Some of the most commonly treated conditions include:• clubfoot and other foot disorders• limb deficiencies and amputations• metabolic bone disease• osteogenesis imperfecta

Orthopaedic conditions related to:• cerebal palsy• spina bifida• congenital and developmental disorders• neuromuscular disorders

Nobles, take the opportunity to visit a hospital and see ourPhilanthropy at work.

In closing, I am looking forward to our Spring Ceremonial inCollingwood, our Imperial Session in Toronto and the golftournaments, BBQs and parades.

Hope to see you all there.

Terry’s Thoughts

BY JIM D. MCKINNEY - Chief Rabban

Jim’s NotebookNobles, I trust you had a good winter. With spring there aremany upcoming events. I have the good fortune of beingable to receive the monthly bulletins from many Clubs.

There are a wide variety of events to attend and have fun with.Fun should be at or near the top of the agenda for all Shrinemeetings. If we can put more fun in the meetings, we willattract new members as well as retain many more of ourexisting members.

I would like to take this opportunity to say thank-you to themany Nobles and their wives who attended the Potentate's Ballthis year. In addition, thanks a million to all Units who came outto help make the evening a most enjoyable evening for ourPotentate Ill Sir Bryan Lawson and his Lady Ingrid. I do hopethat all had a great time. Consideration will be given to havingthe Harmony Brass come back to Keele Street for another event.

This past weekend was spent at the New York Ontario Shrinemeetings in Nanuet, New York. Imperial Officer Al Madsen gavea very informative talk with regards to 3rd party pay and thepotential revenue it should bring into our Hospitals. According

to a study, the amount should be substantial. He also informedus that the first bills should be issued starting July 1st.

Imperial Officer Jerry Gant gave a very interesting update onour Canadian Hospital in Montreal. It would appear from whathe said that the Hospital will launch a capital campaign in thevery near future.

We anticipate the final results from Petro-Canada very soon. They have decided not to renew the project, but are offering usa new project. The potential is the same, so it is our hope thatwe can have more success with this new one. All we have to dois find people who are willing to buy Petro-Canada gas. Weshould all be able to find 4 or 5 people willing to do so.

I hope to see as many of you as possible at the SpringCeremonial next month. It will truly be a great event. Justremember "Shriners do it Best".

As I arrange my thoughts they are of David Dunn ourCircus Chairman and Rik Kubiak our Circus Director, howbusy they must be. A lot of time and effort go into our

largest fund raiser "Rameses Circus". But Nobles it can not be asuccess without your HELP!

We need Fire Watch, Ticket Takers, Security, and a lot ofsmiling faces to help out when needed. You should already haveyour Club's assigned locations, however you are not limited tothose venues, come out and help whenever you can at anylocation.

"YOU ARE NEEDED ANDAPPRECIATED"

CLOWNS:With your colourfulcostumes, meet and greet, pictures and skits are a bigpart of what makes thecircus so special for theKids.

Remember the more themerrier! So come to asmany venues as possible.

"YOU ALSO ARENEEDED ANDAPPRECIATED".

Noble Robert G. Bryson has been a faithful Mason and a member of the SudburyLodge #658 for the last 52 years. During this time, he was a Past President andcontinues to be an enthusiastic and outstanding member of the Sudbury Shrine

Club and the Rameses Mystic Shriners.A family man and a retired business man, he is good natured with a sense of

humour, humility and is loved by many. For several years, he has made regular donations to the 100 Million Dollar Club.

This year, he made another generous donation to the 100 Million Dollar Club and ourPotentate, Sir Bryan W. Lawson, was there to receive it during the Botox Fundpresentation to the Sudbury Hospital’s Children Treatment Centre in Sudbury.

It’s almost a full-time job beingan active member of theOshawa Club. Our five Units

are usually out in force atnumerous parades, often travelinggreat distances to strut our stuff.

Club members are also activein the Wheelers degree team andrecently visited fellow Shriners inWatertown, New York to educatethem about what Wheeling is allabout.

Our huge Club parking lot wasfilled to capacity for our MasterMason’s Night in April as manynew Masons and some older onestoo decided to take a closer lookat what Shrinedom is all about.

There was also a full house forthe Mini Bike Unit steak-fry inearly May, followed by the alwayssuccessful, Mother’s Day Brunchthe next weekend put on by ourever popular Clowns Unit.

All of these events followedthe Oriental Bands Irish Pub Nightat the Club, which again had lotsof Guinness tastings and Irishsing-alongs. One of the membersbroke a bottle of the Guinness onthe floor, and he still has a dozensplinters on his tongue.

My wife noticed that the Irishare always talking about the weepeople. She asked if it could bethat they have a kidney problem?

amputation, but still participates as usual. He and his lady still split and pile about 10cords of fuel wood for each winter, keep a large produce garden, and still find time tosell many bags of Vidalia onions for our Club; and Xmas cakes as well.

We have a symbiotic agreement - many of our Shriners gather at his home andmove that 10 cords of wood into a shed at his back door and he just keeps the stovefired in comfort. He is always very thankful to just keep involved. Don’t be surprised ifyou should see him motoring along on his scooter at the Imperial Sessions. HappyBirthday Noble Bill Adams!.

Come and meet him at our superb Surf and Turf Gala Dinner on 17 July 2010.Call for tickets early: 705-645-1108.

A more long-range plan is to visit beautiful Muskoka for our own Memorial GolfTournament on 24 September 2010. Great greens, great prizes, great fellowship. Callfor arrangements: 705-645-5600.

One Noble inspires Club with his participation

Nobles, as I write this note inmid April there have been571 men/brothers who have

registered a “notice of interest” inbecoming a Shriner on“beashrinernow.com”. Also, 615Nobles have registered to be virtualmentors.

What is a virtual mentor? ANoble who wants to help a Masonbecome a Shriner, or a man becomea Mason and Shriner. It takes verylittle time but can make a bigdifference in someone’s life.Consider registering as one.

Also this is a great site to referfellow Masons or friends when theyshow an interest. Today Rameseshas had three people register theirinterest in Masons and 12 signup asvirtual mentors. Thank you, Noblesfor wanting to share yourenthusiasm.

The Imperial MembershipCommittee has also made good use of the social network such as YouTube.Listed with this article is a graphic of the sites and file names.

Want a membership poster for your lodge hall and literature to handout?Contact the Membership or Public Relations Director. But above all, talk aboutthe Shrine and the rewarding fun you have!

By Noble Jim ThorntonDirector

This show has been speciallyarranged by the Illustrious Sirfor Masons/men and their

families who have expressed aninterest in the Shrine and arepotential members. It is a closedshow and ticket information can behad by [email protected].

Please attend with your guest(s)wearing your fez and a smile.Demonstrate the fun and fellowshipthat is a corner stone for ShrineMasons.

This event is to promotemembership in the Craft Lodges andthe Shrine as well as other bodies.Sorry but it is not a time to bringjust your family. There are 49 othershows where you have thatopportunity.

Vagabond Jungle #2 is growing by leaps and bounds with newmembers being initiated at each monthly meeting. This is a degreewith a lifetime membership, no work and lots of chuckles as they

make fun of themselves. All comers welcome just fill out an applicationform from the bulletin board and give it to a member.

Chief Tramp Walter Brooks had the honour of presenting cheques tothe Shriners Hospital for Children-Erie and to Chief Rabban, JimMcKinney for the Rameses transportation fund. The first of many such donations they expect to make as the group is growing.

As you read this, lots of excitement should be happening. The Spring Ceremonial will be just around the corner up on beautifulBlue Mountain. We may be breathing crisp clear mountain air after having left our other vices at home and are now living the cleanlife. Boy now there’s a story for your grand kids!

Our June 26th golf tournament plans are coming together with your committee out scouring the town for prizes and golfers;there should still be a few spots open if you’re in the mood. Remember “The statute of limitations on forgotten strokes is twoholes”. Our funds raised will be going to the Montreal’s Shrine Hospital for Children with a tax receipt for $25 sent to each golfer.Make your way to the range and get your swing into shape, while there, look for a long ball hitter I think last year’s gorilla, Andy isready to retire.

I had a great time getting in some practice with a few other Nobles you might know down in South Carolina in April. I’m writingthis as I recover from the trip, not sure if I will ever be able to walk or raise my arms above my shoulders again. Or moreimportantly tie my own shoes. All this due to a vast number of swings per hole and the mileage put on checking out what to eat atthe numerous buffets we munched our way through.

Imperial Sir George Mitchell’s big day is coming to Toronto in July. All the world should be there or at least North America to seeone of Niagara’s own sons fezzed as our new Imperial Potentate. For anyone that might miss this once in a lifetime event, there areplans underway for a roast in his honour some time in October ask any of the Club Presidents in the Niagara Region for details.

All the usual excitement will be available for your pleasure at the Imperial Sessions. Meeting and greeting old friends from Clubsand Units you only may see once a year, Unit competitions, pin trading, shopping, dining and perhaps time for a cold beverage. What promises to be a super parade down University Ave may be viewed by thousands lining the wide, flowered boulevard. Wemay all be seen as a bunch of Shriners escaping the chaos at Queens Park.

The Maid will be sailing in about 7 parades during our summer recess. Have a look on the newly designed web sitewww.niagarashrineclub.com for parade dates. Put on your whites and sail the seas of the region. The Maid is one of our best andmost recognized ads for the Shrine in this area.

June meeting will be our annual Steak fry and a great opportunity to bring out a brother to experience the Shrine way of funand fellowship. Make sure President Andy knows you are coming so enough steaks can be ordered.

Noble George will be looking for volunteers to help with the Shrine Circus on July 12th presented by the St Catharines Club. Itmay be your first chance to see our brand new four-pad arena.

No matter where it’s held the look on the children’s faces make it worth while putting in a short time doing fire watch, crowdcontrol (we hope), selling books or just being seen with your fez. If you’re not wearing one you better be in “face” and you will getsome real close up looks at those happy faces.

This being the last Papyrus issue till September we all need to reflect over the summer recess on how to increase ourmembership. Wow, as Shriners we have lots of fun now can that beincreased? Is the business portion of our dinner meeting as brief and tothe point as it can be? Is it fun to come out to as dinner meeting? Do wefulfill the needs of our members in holding a position if they wish? Isthere harmony in the Club? Are there activities available for our ladies tojoin us? Do we present a good reason for a Master Mason to join?

Each and every one of us should think along these lines, make andattempt to answer your own list of questions. Come out after relaxingthis summer; with a tan and a plan.

Speak out at your monthly meeting give the membership chairmanand the president some ideas, one idea, or even a half and idea whichcan be expanded by all the fine minds this Club enjoys. ‘Cause Shrinersdo it best!

New Queen welcomed

By Cuzin’ Noble BarryHILLBILLY SHRINE CLUB

Howdy kind and gentle readers. Backon the front porch here in BurningSands and enjoying the warm

summer-type rays of sunshine.Actually, I was surprised the other

morning when I found, on my side lot, apair of mitts, a hat and scarf. For amoment I just reckoned my CAREpackage had arrived, but then I realizedthey were the remains of a snowmanneighbours put together back in January. You know, my ol’ Uncle Branson used tosay “One thing fer shore - snowmen fallfrom heaven unassembled”.

Folks, the ol’ year is rolling along andso are our Hillbilly float, cars, motorizedbathtub and backhouse. Yup, parades arekeeping we Rameses Hillbilly Shrine Clubmembers busy, but, we love paradingbecause doing so is our way doing ourpart to provide some financial support toour wonderful Shriners Hospitals forChildren and our very special little peoplewe help.

It sure would be nice to see manymore of our own “able-bodied members”get on the bandwagon and parade withus. At least we, like most of the otherClubs and Units, are fortunate to havesome very dedicated members who doget out regardless of the weather or thedistance they have to travel. To all thosededicated Shriners, a tip of the ol”Hillbilly floppy hat.

It is always nice to be part of paradeswhere many Shrine Units and Clubs areparticipating because their efforts

bolsters the fine reputation of ourfraternity and always brings out thesmiles and applause of the spectators.

Highlights for us this year includeparticipation at the Spring Ceremonial upin Collingwood, the famous HillbillyDegree(s) we will be conferring at theRoyal York Hotel (Imperial Room) onMonday, July 5th during the ImperialCeremonial right in Toronto.

Gentle reader, there are many Clubsand Units which you, as a Shriner, canjoin and become a valued member. Newmembers are always needed andwelcomed in the efforts to support ourShriners Hospitals for Children and ourvery special little children. Taking yourfirst step is just a matter of making aphone call and/or visiting the Club orUnit of your choice. Be proud to be “anactive Shriner”. It’s a great feeling! If youare interested in our Club, please feel freeto contact one of the fellers noted at thebottom of this column or have a look atthe Hillbilly Club website:www.hillbillyclan46.ca thank you.

Folks, time to go, the chickens havebroken out of the henhouse. As always, our best wishes and prayers to all ourdear readers and family members andfriends who may not be enjoying the bestof health right now. May the G.A.O.T.U.watch over and bless and keep you.

See you in town on Saturday night!Support your Divan and fellow Shriners!

Recently 18 of we Hillbilly Clubmembers went to the local movie show.

Why 18, you ask?Well, one of our cousins told us the

day before when he was walking by thetheatre he saw a sign out front whichread: “under 17 not admitted”.

Paradin’ with a float, cars, bathtub and backhouse keep ’um busy
