Why did we choose the Rainforest Café? The Rainforest café re-creates a tropical rainforest with vegetation, waterfalls and life-size indigenous animals. It advertises to educate school groups about the world's rainforests, threatened and endangered species and conservation efforts to protect the planet's fragile ecosystems. Each person taking part in the tour actively saves 80m2 of rainforest through our land purchase scheme in conjunction with the World Land Trust, a charity committed to the conservation of rainforests.

First stop is the Elephants!

The children have the opportunity to learn all about African and Indian Elephants, features of their strong and resilient bodies and what measures are in place to stop them being hunted for their tusks.

This cluster of stars greets the children as they enter the restaurant. They represent a typical cluster of stars found guarding the rainforest at night!

Next, the children are encouraged to spot the Jaguar, often found in the Amazon in South America. The children are told about the typical habitat that the Jaguars live in and how they differ from other big cats found in rainforests around the world.

The Rainforest Café has a family of Mountain Gorillas, found nesting in the trees. The children learn about how Gorillas travel in their troops and hunt for food.

Throughout the tour the children are reminded of just how precious the rainforest is and how endangered these animal’s habitats are due to the acts of humans.

That’s why it is great for them to know that as well as taking care of their planet by acts such as recycling, by visiting the Rainforest Cafe they also…..
