Stockport's Labour-led Council is investing £20.5M to implement a borough-wide LED street lighting scheme over a 3 year delivery period which will save energy costs and maintenance as well as reducing CO2 emissions by an estimated 33%.

The not so good news is that there has been night fishing at the reservoir. We have been provided with information and details of a vehicle which have been passed to the police. and Council Enforcement Officers. The rules are clear - no night fishing is allowed on any of the reservoirs. If you see this taking place and any associated vans or cars, please let us know.

"As a new candidate in Edgeley and Cheadle Heath I spent as much time as possible before Christmas getting to know local people and organisations in the Ward. I have been amazed at the level of community activity in the area and have been to events at St Matthew's Church (Irish Coffee was very nice), York Street Community Centre, the Rose Walker Community Centre and Friendly Fridays as well as the very successful Carols in Alexandra Park (where I attempted a short video of the event which is on our Facebook page)! I am really impressed with the interest in local parks and by the Alexandra Park Friends Group. I hope to set up a group for Cheadle Heath Park - details on the front of this Newsletter.
