General Information

Dress CodeDressing for the occasion is part of the fun and excitement of race night. Why not take the opportunity and dress to impress in something special? Here are a few pointers to make sure you’re ready for all the glitz and glamour of the races.

Please note: Jeans, t-shirts, trainers, flip-flops andshorts are strictly prohibited in the Parade Ring. Meydan may use any images taken during the race season in their marketing communications.

20

Style GuideLadiesLadies, here is your chance to go all out and look tip to toe perfect. Now is the time to dazzle with an elegant dress or skirt and blouse combination. Whatever outfit you opt for, make a statement trackside and accessorise with a striking hat or fascinator. Well-chosen accessories are perfect for the event, balancing your outfit and helping you stand out from the crowd. There are so many fantastic choices out there when it comes to occasion dressing but ladies should be courteous and please avoid the following:

Skirts and dresses should fall at the knee or just below. Necklines should be demure, midriffs well covered, and see through materials left at home. Whilst a night at the races boasts a fantastic party atmosphere ladies should not dress as though they are attending a nightclub.

21

GentlemenIf you wear a suit to work all week, it’s probably the last thing you want to wear at weekends. For a more relaxed look that’s still smart, team a smart pair of khakis with a well-pressed button down dress shirt. Add a belt and a pair of dress shoes to ensure you’re ready to join the fun in the stands. Whilst you don’t have to wear a suit, we do draw the line at t-shirts, trainers, flip-flops and shorts. These are strictly prohibited in the Meydan Grandstand. A night at the races is the perfect opportunity to dust off your best suit. A well-fitted solid coloured suit teamed with a dress shirt, tie and bright coloured handkerchief is a classic look that always impresses. Add a touch of personality with a carefully chosen shirt or tie.

KidsThey may be small but dressing the little ones right is key to ensuring the whole family looks dapper for the occasion. When choosing an outfit for the kids (5-12 years of age) keep things comfortable yet smart with age appropriate occasion or smart-casual wear.

General AdmissionWhilst there is a casual dress code for the free admission area, smart attire is required for all those entering the Meydan Grandstand hospitality area. Women are encouraged to wear hats and race wear, although this is optional. T-shirts, trainers, flip-flops and shorts are strictly prohibited in the Meydan Grandstand.
