605 Duration of project : 04 years
6051 Date of start of project : Kharif, 2012
6052 Likely date of completion of project: 2016
6053 Period for which report submitted : ~ 20 12.. - J 3.
606 Total cost of the project
6061 Expenditure to date : Institute Project
607 Summary Achievements :During the first year (2012-13) of this project, perennialcomponent (TSH and legume on beds) was established. Initial soilstatus was recored. Kharif crops not attempted as perennialsestablishment is priority in this season. Rabi season crops sownbut delayed operation of kharif did not have enough residualmoisture for rabi crops which resulted in poor germination ofrainfed treatments. However, the data of first year will not beconsidered for reporting.

PART -III: TECHNICAL DETAILS
620 Introduction and objectives6201 Immediate objectives:
.:. To enhance the productivity and sustainability of perennial forage based systems in changingvulnerabilities through integration of different practice
.:. To Improve input use efficiencies (water, energy, labour, nutrients) in rainfed forage basedsystems
6202 long-term objectives:
To sustain forage production systems with changing climate through enhancing resource use efficiency
6203 Specific objectives for the year as detailed in RPF-l:
Selection of site, Field preparation, Establishment of perennial component (TSH and Legume) andrecording of observations (Soil, Plant and input)
