The oral interview for applicants at the Faculty of Economics includes Russian, Mathematics and English or German; for applicants at the faculties of technical subjects – Russian, Mathematics and Physics.
To enter the Republic of Belarus you'll need the university's invitation which enables you to apply for a study visa at the Embassy of Belarus in your home country. The following documents are necessary to receive an invitation:
Please note that the documents are to have an original notary stamp affixed. Documents sent by fax or e-mail are not processed. The documents must be sent to the address below:

Once your documents are approved the university will issue an invitation and send it by EMS service to your home address within two weeks. The invitation is valid for three months only. That means you will have to apply for a visa within three months and enter Belarus within the time stated in the invitation.
Upon arrival you get a temporary stay registration that cannot exceed the validity dates of your entry visa. Within this period the student will have to complete all the enrollment procedure formalities. The permit on temporary stay is stamped at the back of the Migration Card. A Migration Card is obtained when entering the Republic of Belarus right at the beginning of the frontier control. Part “A” of the Migration Card is withdrawn by a frontier officer while you keep part B to submit it together with the other documents at the registering body in the place of your actual registering. When leaving Belarus you are to hand over part “B” of the Migration Card to an official at the frontier control point. Be careful to have a Migration Card when getting through the registering formalities.
Having passed your oral interview, medical examination, signed a contract and made fee payments, you'll get re-registered with the permit on temporary residence and a registration mark is put in your passport. The temporary residence permit is granted for a year, however, it may not exceed your medical insurance policy and passport expiry dates. The dates of the temporary residence, medical insurance policy and passport usually correspond. The university provides assistance to students in passing registration procedures and obtaining the temporary residence permit. The registration fee for the temporary residence is 105,000 rubles.

Electricity
The University will provide international students with double rooms in one of the several student dorms ($25US per person per month). Students share facilities (lavatories, kitchens) with other Belarusian and international students. Please note that there is limited telephone access from the dormitories. Most students bring along their own mobile phones or buy one after arrival.
The dorms are not provided with kitchen equipment. Consequently all students must bring basic kitchen equipment with them or buy it after arrival. The kitchen is not provided with a fridge and freezer.
Students are provided with bed equipment (a pillow, a duvet and bed linen), however, you must bring your own towels or buy them. The dorms do not have washing machines and dryers. There is a laundry in one of the University's dormitories.
Be sure to bring converter plugs that will fit Belarusian sockets. In Belarus, electrical appliances run on a 220 volt system.
A compact university campus is set in beautiful surroundings, with plenty of green space to relax. It offers relaxed and welcoming settings. The campus offers a range of facilities to satisfy students' day-to-day needs: four student dormitories, a bank branch, a chemist's shop, a laundry, and a gym.

Entertainment
Clubs
The university offers a great number of athletic and recreational facilities to help students spend their time to the best advantage. There are a lot of sports groups: football, volleyball, tennis, chess and many others. Various competitions, championships and other events are regularly held at BrSTU. Verious sport events, i.e. championships on volleyball and mini-football, cross-country races and athletics competitions are continually organized jointly by the University's Sports Club and the Department of Physical Training. Additionally there are 14 sport societies for those who want to keep themselves fit. Apart from sports, students are engaged in other activities as well. For example, the Citadel Alpinist Club (C.A.C.) is one of the most attractive centers of social life. It unites the most restless, adventure-seeking and romantically-minded individuals among the University's students and staff. The members of the C.A.C. are regular participants in different expeditions. The club chronicle keeps records of dozens of mountain-climbing expeditions to the most picturesque places. Here you’ll have a wonderful opportunity to get to know yourself better and to find true friends. The University Students' Club offers a number of activities to the students who want to reveal their creative abilities. They can participate in festivals and contests and join various amateur societies and groups run by the club – a violinist group, an accordion group, a choir, dancing groups, a vocal group as well as the Philosophy Club, the Psychology Club, the Theatre Club, the Week-End Travel Club, the “What? Where? When?” Club (quiz games), a historical club “The Grice”, a club of publicistic writing “The Feather” and others. Students can try out themselves as script writers, producers and actors at the University traditional festivals: “Students' Spring”, “New Stars of BrSTU“ and “Fresher's Day”. Well, this is entirely up to you! There are many non-academic opportunities to join group activities. This is a great way to make friends and experience Belarusian student life first hand. If your social life has centered on going out with friends, visiting cafés, going to the movies and so on you will find that Brest has lots of places to visit with friends. Belarusians like to do things together – watching a movie and making pizza, preparing a picnic for a hike together or just meeting at each other's rooms to “hang out”.
The key to find friends is to be patient, practice the language and join common activities.

Shopping
Almost all Belarusians use mobile telephones. Please note that not all foreign mobile phones will work here. Most students choose to buy their own Belarusian phone after arrival. GSM 900/1800 is the mobile telephone system. There are four cell phone operators in Belarus: MTS, VELCOM, LIFE, DIALLOG. Take into account that they usually do not cooperate with every operator in your home country. Therefore, do not forget to ask before buying a SIM-card whether you will be able to call your family/friends at home. To get detailed information on tariffs and services visit the following web-sites: www.mts.by www.velcom.by www.life.com.by www.diallog.by
Computer labs at university have access to the internet. You will be given a student password to the intranet after your enrollment. If you have your own computer, you will be able to access internet from your dorm room as well. There are both state-run (Beltelecom) and private internet cafés in Brest, that offer access to the internet as well as some related services such as printing, CD-copying, scanning, etc. Internet cafes: Internet Cafe (6, Partizansky Ave.) Internet Cafe - Beltelecom (21, Masherov Str.) Angel (73 Sovetskay Str.)
The university area has a good selection of shopping possibilities. Check out Korona (“The Crown”), a supermarket located within 10 minutes walking distance to the University. The supermarket can offer everything from local to foreign brands to meet your everyday needs. There are two cafés: self-service Pit-Stop and stylishly decorated Amsterdam. They are not merely “coffee shops” but come with a complete kitchen offering a restaurant menu with meals for any time of the day. There is an ATM (bankomat) and an exchange office in the supermarket. To experience a Belarusian market go to one of the local markets, one of them is located across the road opposite the University. For food, including meats, dairy selection, fruits, vegetables, sweets, local specialties go to the Kolkhozny Market in the city centre.
