QUINNESEC, MICHIs midway betw een Iron M ountain and N orw ay, on the line o f the Chicago & N o rth -W este rn Railway. T h e W isconsin & M ichigan Railw ay is now extending its line and will have its term inus in this village. T h e village was platted in nBys by Jo h n L . B uell, and since that tim e it has grow n to a pretentious little city o f at least 2 ,500 people. M ining is the ch ief industry, the O liver M ining C o., and Corrigan, M cK inney & C o. w orking the C undy and Q uinnesec mines respectively, em ploying about 250 m en. M any fine farm s, in successful cultivation , lie roundabout the village. Q u in nesec is no t incorporated, being under B reitung T ow nsh ip organization. I t has efficient fire and police protection, excellent schools, churches, etc. In succeeding pages we give such news o f the village as is o f everyday use, together w ith a list o f the people and the ir occupation as far as it was possible to secure it.
