70% of the people who completed my questionnaire were 17 years old, 10% were 18 years old, 10% were 19 years old and 10% 33 years old. This will be useful for my research because the age rating for my trailer is 15+.

People who answered my questionnaire generally chose more than one preferred genre and the most popular genre amongst the group was Romance which I think has been influenced and come up strong because 90% of the group were female. 3 out of 10 voted for action and 0 voted for social realist, my trailer is a hybrid genre of action and social realist therefore this tells me my trailer my be more suited to males.

WHAT MAKES YOU FAVOUR THAT GENRE?

Horror: Anticipation, good plots, physical reactions.

Romance: Easy to watch, good plots, emotional atmosphere/entertaining, escapism, clichés.

Comedy: Fun to watch, relatable characters (to ourselves or others), good plots, laughable/positive.

An equal amount of people thought that the film is relatable and that the film gives negative connotations. Examples of the negatives are: hard hitting, brutally honest, boring. The others that gave positive connotations said: very good depending on the narrative and enjoyable if filmed in a creative way which shows me that social realist genre films are very much speculated.

Most of the group said that Action films are exciting and there was an equal amount of people who had positive and negative comments on the genre. Positive comments included: They’re thrilling, have anticipation and never boring. Negative comments include: Only enjoyable with others, sometimes repetitive and boring and sometimes overcomplicated.

Although the social realist genre didn’t get good reviews, my trailer is going to be a hybrid genre of social realist and action and 80% said that they would rather watch a hybrid genre film than a single one which may help my chosen genres to become more favourable to females and something that wouldn't go unnoticed

12A 15 18My first intentional aims for the certificate of my trailer was 15+ and everyone who answered my questionnaire also decided on 15. Some suggestion more than one rating and most decided that it should be 15 or 18 over 15-12A as social realist films can be quite brutally honest and relatable.
