Questionnaire Results

I found out from my questionnaire that 100% of people who watch horror films are of an age of 16-20, showing that the primary audience for horror

films are teenagers.

I found out from this question that I have an equal amount of female and male viewers of horror films, therefore I will need to make my horror film

project appeal to both genders.

I found out from my questionnaire that my target audiences interests related to those of a teenage audience. For example, going out, listening to music and watching TV were the most popular interests. The interest of watching TV is useful because it shows my target audience would be interested in watching my horror film project.

I found out from my questionnaire that a majority of my audience watch horror films, making it an effective questionnaire as it shows me more about

the target audience I am trying to appeal to.

I found out from my questionnaire that most people watch horror films once a month. This shows that people do not constantly watch horror films as much as normal TV.

I found out from my questionnaire that my target audience like horror, blood, suspense, tension, background music, scary storyline and real life events in

horror films. This inspires me to use these aspects in my production.

The most appealing sub-genre of horror was found to be supernatural/psychological. This inspires me to use this sub-genre for my production as my target audience like it the most. The second most popular are found-footage and comedy, therefore I will try to use aspects of this in my production.

I found out from my questionnaire that my target audience expected to see main characters, an attention grabbing storyline, a sense of mystery,

suspense, tension, weapons, blood, isolated setting and a range of scenes from the film. I will use these in my production in order to be effective.

I found out from my questionnaire that aspects my target audience found appealing was death, realism, background music, mystery, weapons, blood, isolated settings, jumpy scenes, a scare factor and something that doesn’t

give too much away. I will use these in my production in order to be effective.

From this question, I didn’t receive many useful ideas that I could adapt in my production and appeal to my audience.
