• Joined the ESTS contract in 1996 as an engineer and has 14 years of Task Lead experience, over 12 years as Team Lead, and 4 years as Deputy Director, serving many organizations at MSFC

• Graduated from the College of Charleston in 1982 with a B.S. in Biological Sciences and from the University of Alabama in 1990 with B.S. in Mechanical Engineering

• Completed the Jacobs College Leadership Development Program in 2006

including nearly 20 years as troop leader• Supports her church’s committees and education programs

Kathy Stringer• Worked as an environmental chemist for 18 years before

coming to MSFC• Implemented the quality control standards in MSFC’s

Environmental Chemistry Lab and spearheaded effort to earn accreditation for the Lab in 2008

• Shifted her duties from chemist to auditing and qualitymanagement for the Engineering Directorate, ensuring that ED was following the MSFC and NASA quality requirements

• In September 2006, became involved with safety by gathering data and safety metrics to determine the overall effectiveness of ED’s safety program and initiatives

• Provides invaluable input as a Subject Matter Expert for the MSFC Safety Committee in the development of SHE training classes

Kathy Stringer• Serves as Chairperson of the ESTS Safety Committee

since before 2008• Acted as mentor for the 2008 Safety Health Fair and Picnic,

allowing her successor more autonomy and authority in future years while still offering assistance and guidance

• Serves as a Principal Liaison for the ERC ESTS Group• Supports ESTS as an internal auditor, always putting her

interviewees at ease• Received authorization as an OSHA General Industry Outreach

Ginger Barnes President & CEO of

United Space Alliance

Virginia A. (Ginger) Barnes is President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of United Space Alliance (USA), LLC, and is ultimately responsible for the direction, development, and operations of the company.

Barnes joined USA as President and CEO in April 2010 from The Boeing Company, where she has worked on a variety of programs, a diverse set of customers, and in a vast number of roles. Her experience includes Simulation and Training, the International Space Station (ISS), fighter and support programs, defense modernization, and weapons. Customers included all defense services, NASA, and many international agencies.

Barnes has almost 29 years of experience with The Boeing Company. Most recently, Barnes served as Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Program Manager, overseeing the programmatic and financial aspects of the Army's modernization efforts. From 2006 to 2008, Barnes was Vice President of Weapons Programs and the St. Charles Site Leader for The Boeing Company. She led the integration of Direct Attack Programs (JDAM, Small Diameter Bomb) with Surface Warfare (Harpoon, SLAM-ER) missiles.

Barnes graduated with high honors in accounting from The University of Alabama in Huntsville and earned her Master's in Business from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University. She is a commercial pilot, instructor, and has served as an FAA-designated examiner for hot air balloons.
